So what’s everyone doing for 7SAUM brass??
- 300SAUM neck down? Then neck turned?
- 7SAUM brass from Bertram or another brand?
If making from Norma 300SAUM brass what’s the process used?
Just run through a FL sizer load and go?
Any insight appreciated
Cheers
George

Bertrams is a little cheaper but needs heavy sorting.
I've found Norma 300saum brass to be excellent, just run it through the 7saum sizer die and go shoot IF you have a "No Turn" neck chamber, or neck turn to your size of choice.

Use Norma 300 SAUM. Just run through FL sizer. Expand neck with an appropriate .284 expander die. Light skim turn of the neck depending on desired neck clearance with the chamber at hand otherwise should be good to go. Lighter loads so as to condition the case for the first couple of loads. Good shooting.

Geroge,
As an Australian Manufacturer, I would love to use Bertram but have to confess that I use Norma. I performed a small assessment of the two a while ago and for what if might be worth, you can read more here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9199&p=75834#p75834
In reality, with the Norma brass, I follow a 12 step prep process before the first firing and another 10 steps before the second. This would not be a too dissimilar process with Bertram apart from the fact that you would likely need to run more batches than if I used Norma. My biggest bit of advice is to make sure you use a standard FL resizing die and not a bushing style die when necking down from 30 cal to .284. The bushing die does not go all the way down and if you perform any neck turning, you will cut a significant amount of brass at the neck shoulder junction, which WILL (as it did in my cases) cause neck separation.

Re: 7SAUM Brass
Thanks for the info guys, exactly what I needed to know
I do like AUS made but I do like less case prep too hahaha
I have used both Norma and Bertram cases in my .284 and found the Bertram needed a good deal more sorting and case prep then my Norma’s,
Now to just try and find a bag or 2 of Norma hahaha,
I seen a box of Nosler the other day..... someone’s having a laugh right? $145/25 I’d want it to shoot X even when I pull a bad shot

Re: 7SAUM Brass
Norma is running at $145 per 50 . I’m thinking of importing from the states when I get my Saum running .
