IBI Stainless Barrels from Cleavers

#1 Postby AlexE » Mon Dec 17, 2018 6:40 pm

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know anything about the quality of these barrels cleavers are selling? Canadian made, apparently.

The price is right and 26" finish length and profile is good for one of my upcoming projects

You go first and let us know !!

If they had slower twists I would like to try one on a fox shooting rig. 22BR or a 22-250AI. Who cares about barre life.

I think most f-class shooters will pass on finished lengths alone.

26” 8 twist will keep a 123 grain supersonic in most 6.5 rigs well past 1200yards. More than a 26” on a gaymoor is a waste.

And what’s wrong with a 22-250 that shoots a projectile heavier than 55 grains?

I agree a 75g or 80g burger humping it will be a great long range Varminter as in 1200 plus

They seem very good with a sample of 1, I have a 6.5 which hammers with cheap American gunner
From a savage in a chassis 1”to 3/4” groups but closer to 1/2” when sorted, I believe they will have 30” 30cal 1-10 in the next few months, regards Rich

another brand to investigate might be tse.
they are doing hand lapped s.steel match as an option.
I have a 0.400/0.408 13 twist blank that looks good inside.

Hi Redhawk,

Cant say as yet, barrel not yet chambered and fitted. Too many other distractions. I will post on this when completed and
tested

Cheers

I contacted IBI and arranged for them to make me some custom profiles and 32 inches long bought through Cleavers on a group buy. So far I have had chambered a few, a 1 in 10's and a one in 9 for .308 and all shoot fantastically. The 1 in 10 missus borrowed it for the cancelled ladies team, somehow it now seems to be her barrel as she was getting 60's with it.
Love the 1 in 9 it is tacking with 210vld's, actually not had a bad one yet.

Josh we are talking about the quality of these barrels on this thread nothing more.
Anyway all my point was is the IBI shoot very well indeed, a new company with good product that we should try to support.
