Hey Tim,

I hope your rifle is working this year, as i have left the SAUM at home ☺

So we have a few from NSW including Greg.W. Did anyone tell Parroz that the shoot was on?

I will be there to enjoy the weather and to push Stuart and the Cessnock crowd.

Safe trip, and I'll see you all tomorrow.

Good luck to all shooting in the SA Queens. I will be watching intently from the comfort of sunny Nth QLD.
Tim, can you keep your room mate on the straight & narrow, I am led to believe he is easily influenced .....

Hi All,
Day 1 of the lead up
If dust and flies and wind are your thing- as yoda would say “here you must be”.
Ok it’s not all terrible, tomorrow will also have rain!
Still beats going to work.
On a brighter note:
Fouling shots before the comp at 100 yds was an appreciated inclusion and all for a gold coin donation.
I found the wind to be reasonably constant and when I employed my best (possibly only) tactic of shooting fast while chasing the spotter I snagged 2nd for the day behind Rod Davies. :D
Squading was used to great effect and most of us got to shoot in the same conditions as our competitors
TR shot first in the three grades then when they were all done FClass started together.
Today’s winners:
TR - David Macintosh
F STD - Trevor Rhodes
FTR - Mick Punteuriero
F Open - Rod Davies
Hopefully the rain doesn’t stop the show.
Good luck to all.

Day 2
This morning the local farmers suggested the event should be run more frequently as the rain is much appreciated :?

The first range was postponed till 10.45 then all in at 700m
Raining again at lunchtime
Hopefully it stops soon [-o<

Day 2 continued
After lunch the rain eased off and we got to shoot the 800m
The 900 was canned due to rain delays
Wind was around 4min on a saum for both ranges.
Hunt winners:
TRA Frank Pinyon
FSA Mahlon Reid
FO Rod Davies
FTR Mick Punturiero

Now the lead up is complete and Davies has peaked early - let the games begin!
Good luck to all competitions

Day 1 of the Queen’s
Good news is the rain has gone
Bad news is the wind that pushed it away is still here.
It is however reasonably constant and my guess is there should be some good scores.
Just heard a call for a new center and it’s TR shooting at the moment.
104 shooters started.
Apparently it was a bit of a rough night for those staying on the range as there’s no protection from the wind.
Anyhow the suns shining and I haven’t dropped a point so far(haven’t started shooting).

Your reporting is much appreciated Tim. I'm pleased to see from the weather forecast that the 900 looks like it will actually happen in the Queens this year. There is a strong field in F-Open - hopefully we'll see a close competition.

The main Queens scribe in this forum, Tim Nugent scored a 60.10 at 700 this morning.
Not many clean in the 600m though.

Nicely done Tim, and you too at 300 Rod. I seem to remember the first 60.10 at Lower Light was only a month or two back.

The 700 scores in F-Open were amazing. You have to sympathise with Neville Roberts. Imagine getting up with a 60.4 then finding you finished 14th out of 15 :?
