To all entrants in the Vic F-Open Series, there are two changes which you should be aware of:
Firstly, the scoring system has been changed from a percentage of winning score, to a simple decreasing points system. The winner (by normal scoring) of each leg gets 10 points, second place gets 9 points, third place gets 8 points etc. Places will be determined as per the SSRs (shootoffs or countbacks). As before, the best (or only) 3 leg scores make up the series aggregate score. The percentage of winning score will be used only if needed to break ties for the series aggregate. See Scores to Date
Secondly, it looks like the Werribee leg, which was always in doubt, will not happen, so the 3rd and 4th legs will both be at the No 2/3 DRA OPM at Bendigo in June. The 3rd leg will be the 300, 500 and 600 yds on Saturday June 9, and the 4th leg will be the 700, 900 and 1000 yds on Sunday June 10. Next year, we hope to add one or two more venues, and will probably go back to just the Sunday at Bendigo.
The scoring change is designed by Paul to make it easier for him to catch me! Actually it is by mutual agreement, and is designed to keep everyone in the hunt for longer. If there is something we've overlooked, and you think it won't work, then please let me know, and we'll have another look at it. But make sure its well before the 3rd and 4th legs please!
