QRA QUEENS - Live online on Hexta website

#1 Postby ecomeat » Tue Aug 09, 2016 11:46 am

We can now follow the QRA Queens live and online, via the Hexta website at http://shooting.hexsystems.com.au/
Click on the Real Time Results link in the upper RHS.
The green background is current, real time shooters and will update shot-by-shot unless the string is finished.
If you click on a current shooter you can even follow them.....shot by shot....as they shoot.
Scroll down the page to the "Closed Sessions" and it shows all of the shooters who have finished that Range
The NRAA website will obviously have the conclusive results when they get there....daily Aggs etc etc...but right now at 11:40am there is nothing up on the NRAA whilst its all there on the Hex site ! I wish I had been watching when Matt Paroz just smacked em at the 500 yds with a 60-10 =D> =D>
Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.

What a great system, there's no secrets here :D
I see Matt P shot his 60:10 at the snails pace of 1:32 which is nearly a full minute over his PB...must be getting old

How about some news from sunny Queensland?????
Max of 25 deg 14kph winds 90% chance of 1-5mm rain, sounds better than sitting in the office wishing I was there
Good luck to all for the queens.

Zero wind at 300....only shooter error to blame :D
1 click at 500, pretty clear mirage, swapping around to keep us on our toes.
Bloody Rigby stole his daughters gun and is smoking us with it =D> =D>
Ready for 600 now, storm front coming hard from the west, flags right up , maybe 15 mph. Probably going to get wet before we finish today.
Beautiful warm day, very clear sight picture so far

Alan, you weren't trying to save on powder were you? [-X
You might as well be yourself, everyone else is already taken.

Thanks for all the concern - I didn't know you all cared so much. :D
I'll try to explain what happened :

It was a dark and stormy night.....

On second thoughts I'll get straight to the point. I had a series of self-imposed blunders over the course of 24 hours, beginning with disobeying the rule don't mix cooking with reloading. I had a loading block of primed cases that apparently had a splash of water over them, and several loaded rounds were affected, causing a misfire and bad vertical at 300. This was only revealed when I disassembled the misfired round - the powder was in sticky lumps. I had very kind offers from Matt Paroz and Steve Rigby to use their spare rifles but opted to reload fresh (dry) rounds. I got to the 500 mound in time to shoot last, but in my haste didn't clamp the scope on properly, hence the very bad start and 51 score  . So the damage was done and I decided to put the good barrel away (possibly to give to someone who can do it justice? ). I then missed the first 600 disassembling all the other suspect (wet) cases then decided for the rest of the Queens to use the second new Bartlein which is barely run in. It actually looks quite promising.

So the moral of the story is don't do stupid things  .

On the bright side, the pressure is off, and a more relaxing time will be had.

Its great to see Steve Rigby at the sharp end, he's been thereabouts for many years, maybe this is the one.
