Qld Country Shooters

We are looking for a couple of FTR shooters to go up against the 'so-called' so-called might City team. If sources are correct there are 3 of them all going on about the fact no one wants to shoot against them......

Please get back to me if you are able to make it on the weekend. Bob Bull from North Arm and a couple of the Ipswich guys would be useful for this match.

Please let me know if you can make it.

Cheers

Andrew

I'll be talking to Bob tonight and will see if I can talk him into coming.

I just read your post again, Andrew. I first read it as there's three of them saying that no one wants to shoot BESIDE them. Maybe my readings are more correct haha.

Boy, I'm glad I wasn't coaching yesterday. Very messy conditions.

Well city v country is done and dusted again for another year ! I wasn't there this year ( maybe that's why they won haha) but I have firm reports from Ecomeat that Country won over City . In fact Tony's words were "Whupped" F standard went down to city beating Counrty by 2 points over the 2 days .
F open Country 1133.65 v City of about 1000 points
Top score in open D Reddan (6.5x47 l): 230.14
T Berry 229.14 (.284win)
L Tillack 228.14 (.284win)
D Aarons 223.13(.284 win)
C Sutton 223.10 (6xc)
Coached by A Pearce
City team coached by Mr 7 mm ( and my captain)!
L Crombie 226.19 (284)??
B Lewis 225.12 ( 284 shehane)
Tony says that scores taper of there.

My fearless development captain Mr McGowen has only just got his rifle back together and is reportedly trying a gain twist barrel ! So don't read much into it ! He'll find his Mojo soon!
Ftr was also in attendance and maybe Andrew Mac can fill us in ! And maybe others might have some photos !
Congrats To the Country f open team and to City F Standard team !

My most sincere thank you to AndrewP who did a magnificent job coaching varying calibres in F-Open in some very difficult fish tailing headwinds, heavy gusts and drop offs. He never fired a shot himself all week end and NEVER seemed to doubt himself, procrastinate or stumble. He's a selfless man. A man and club mate that I admire and appreciate very much as do all the Open teams shooters today.

Thanks Andrew.

TAKE NOTE :- The powers that be got Ben C and Gary H names around the wrong way. Ben actually won f standard.

Hi All

Just a quick reply. Scott, those results are incorrect. Both my score and that of Ben Curley are in fact mixed up with other shooters. Ben came in first with a great shoot in F Std and myself in a distant third to Ben.

As for F/TR in C v C I can offer the following.

Being the only nomination from Country it was decided that the 4 City and I would shoot together and work out what we did. As for scores they are all over the place as we did some Bisley 15 shot practice in amongst it all too. In fact it was a great afternoon and morning of shooting with the others. They being Mark F, Jason M, Nikki S and George C along with myself.

If we were to pick a winner for City or Country I think the only fair thing to do is average the City scores against mine. In that case Country took another win. However, high score of the shoots belongs to Nikki Slee with I think 248.10 off memory. I was 1 point behind that with about 16 X's.

A big thank you to Mark F too. Having shot all my rounds on the Saturday afternoon Mark bought in one of his other rifles for me to shoot and ammo. To Mark's delight I promptly shot a reasonable 59.5 (or something like that) at 800 and then went back and knocked a 87.7 at 900 shooting Bisley with Nikki for 15 shots.

We also got a chance to practice some wind coaching which I enjoyed immensely and probably assisted a fair bit with the good score at 900. In all though, F/TR was the winner for the weekend in my opinion. It was really good to have 5 shooters just enjoying themselves regardless of where we were from. When the wind was picking up you would get the assistance of 4 wind coaches all giving their input into the strength of the condition.

Overall I would say it was a good weekend. Great to see Country get up in F Open and sad to see them go down by 2 points in Std. Some good shooters on the line too.

Congrats to the Champion of Champion winner too.

Cheers Andrew

The results are up on the qra website. My phone won't let me put up a link again.
