Wingham OPM

#1 Postby macguru » Sun Jun 07, 2015 10:09 pm

I am sure that John Slack will publish the full results soon, but I would just like to point out the performances of Ben Ferrara and Rod Davies to finish the 6 stage, 65 shot Wingham opm CLEAN .... I wonder if this has been done before ? Anywhere ?
cheers Andrew

Who shot what calibers/equipment ?
Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.

Wingham Results and grading now on http://www.nswfclass.com.au

It is recommended you refresh your browser.

Note comment on website regarding the national grading system. At some stage this year the grading system maintained by NSW F Class will go into retirement. All OPM organisers are encouraged to contact NRAA and come on board with the new system. This is the future of grading post 1 July 2015.

Check out the YouTube channel on the website as well!!

Andrew, add a 6mmBR on the list for me!!

Cheers

Thanks for the good competition guys, Rod never letting me get a point lead.

Matt lost one point on the second counting shot on the first stage to a clean barrel (over the top) then never dropped another one.

This shoot was a great example of not keeping 6 sighters, none of the top finishers even thought about it. Shooting for X's only, obviously that converts to 60.10's.

On the advice of Rod and Matt this barrel has know been taken out and not to be used on a Saturday afternoon,
will not get another run now until QRA Queens.

Surprised at how well we shot considering it was the usual Saturday night at the nearest Pub.

65 shots clean has been done before, but I don't think Bens X count has been done. 50 Xs out of 65. His lowest score was 60.7.
There were enough 5s being shot even with 7mms to show there were some conditions out there, so he did bloody well in some of the conditions I saw him shoot in.
I think the coaches will be happy with the way the NSW team guns have been shooting :o

That's awesome shooting, thanks for posting Andrew.

It seems like we need smaller targets. Essentially the top 'few' in any discipline are all getting possibles at most ranges, if not all ranges, and one point generally means you're off the medals list.

It's now a rare thing that a comp is not decided by Super Centers.

Maybe we need a 'duper dooper centre" and make the X worth 7 points eh?

yes we have been talking about getting dimitri to program in a 0.25moa "Z ring" and make the X ring 7 pts, so out of 70 rather than 60
It will probably be a while yet ......

more urgently, fullbore shooters should use our scoring system now, there are too many 50.10s requiring shootoffs
ie they should use the present 60.10 scoring

Keep going with this tighter target business until there is about ten competitors left in Australia.I have been to a lot of ranges and competitions and this doesn't happen very often. Good shooting on the day,but even so there was no problem to sort out the winner.

Totally agree! We just don't see those sorts of scores across the board ! We are lucky to see a couple of possibles up here in this neck of the woods .

Just look at Northarm and Muckadilla scores ! At Mucka people were happy at 900 yds with a 52 and that's 11 count !

Maybe they should shoot 300 yds out to 900 yds and make it a little harder !

Yep I know I'm in trouble again with my comments ! But really a z ring !

No disrespect to the top few shooters that shot very well! But there were a lot of extraordinary scores even b graders across the board .
Regards Graham.
