Service Rifle

#1 Postby S.Scheske » Thu Jun 30, 2005 8:56 pm

Hello Every one..

I have just been looking in NRAA Rules.

Chapter 16

16.2.1
Only the following rifles may be used for Service Rifle Shooting and may be used only on rifle ranges with approved classification for such rifles. Providing at all times safety is met, modifications are permitted.

Rifles...

SMLE No.1
Rifle No.4
Rifle No.5
Pattern 1914
M1917
M1903 Springfield
Mauser Rifles and Carbines
Ishapore MM Rifle 2A
Mosin-Nagant
F88 Styer; AUS SA
[Defence Personnel in Uniform Only]

Are there any ranges in South Australia that do this? And does this allow ADF Cadets to shoot this?

You might now be able to answer the one about cadets being able to use the F88 Styer for Competitions... that’s something I would have to find out through cadets.

Cheers Sam :)

Sam these are the rifles that have sound military background.

the Aus Styer F88 as the current Oz issued rifle is only used in military run shoots.

15 years ago it was different, the SLR was the issued rifle and was availiable to the civilian shooter also ... this changed in the mid 90's with the semi auto buy back.

However, all this has nothing to do with F Class, F Class is a long range discipline not short range military rifle.
MBRC F-Class standard ... and proud of it!
