Cunning NQRA tactics exposed

#1 Postby ecomeat » Tue Feb 18, 2014 11:54 am

Ahhhh the internet is a wonderful thing sometimes, and thismorning it allowed me to stumble onto proof of the tactics that the NQRA team have employed in their quest to become Australian Champions.

Practising on their ETs at Cairns a week ago, it appears that the World F Class Silver medallist from 2013 has willingly participated in this dastardly scheme to throw all off the scent.
Firstly to throw all a red herring, Marty shot a 43/60 as follows :

Image

Shot Score
S1 4
S2 5
1 6
2 3
3 3
4 3
5 4
6 4
7 5
8 5
9 4
10 6
Score: 43-0

Elapsed Time: 2 mins 59 secs . Bad luck there Marty.....it must have been a tough range !!

Then after all cameras and recording devices were gone, he proceeded to play for real, and he did this :
Image

Shot Score
S1 X
S2 6
1 X
2 X
3 X
4 X
5 X
6 X
7 X
8 X
9 X
10 6
Score: 60-9 Averages: 0:10
Elapsed Time: 1 mins 52 secs

Note that he cut his first two Sighters.......an X and a 6......proof indeed that their cunning plan is to only shoot X's !!

Bartman007, it appears you may need those 12Xs per range that you Mexicans have been working on !
Will there be a Bookmaker at Campbell Town or Ross ?
Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.

Not wanting to sound even slightly suspicious about your information Tony but at what distances were these shot? The first one appears to be the LR target from the ring spacings, and the second one not. So let me guess, he got creamed at 1000, then in order to garner some respectability for the day, retreated to the relative comfort of the 300?

Because the internet is always right.......it seems the first one was at 800, and the relative safety referred to was taken at 600...................or at least that is what they punched into the ozscore computer system

It's getting closer......to the truth coming out.

Will Marty be able to handle his celebrity status, or will he crumble under the pressure?

Has anyone mentioned to TRA about rolling out the red carpet, for our celebrity from the north?

Is there enough accommodation in Tasmania for the NQ team and their groupies?

Will the sun be bright enough for them to be wearing their sun glasses 8)

All will be revealed in time, and there will be tales to tell for years to come

Ohhhhh you want the TRUUUUUTH.

Well this is the story.
All shot at 800m - First target he deliberately sprayed them around for our testing of ET.

Then Marty thought he would get in some 1000 yard practice. Only considering our range only goes back to 800 - he set the monitor for 600 to make it a little tougher. He also thought he would get in some practice for Tassie and as the front rests are too heavy to fly with he shot off two bent sticks and a (slightly soiled) adult diaper as a rear bag. Don't ask him where he gets them from (something about saving him from getting up from the pilots seat) - and they also form a dual purpose for team shooting when you might be on the mound for an hour and a half.

There had to be some spurious line to explain why he choked on that last shot.

Thanks Dave. Sorry you had to reveal all of that. We'll (definitely  ) try not to put you on the spot in future... When you live in a place like Victoria, you just don't realise how some of the other States live...

Dave, tell Marty there is still room for improvement, there is vertical in the x ring. He should not rest on his laurels

The other day one of our A grade fullbore guests was shooting with us at 600m. He was a bit non-plussed by his electronic score in the mid 30s/50 and complained about the ET.

It was then noticed that it was set on 300m rather than 600m...

Perhaps a similar handicap system could be imposed on QLD shooters if they get too cocky.

He didn't choke, he may have gagged, it is the wet season up here, it is quite hot and the rear bag ruptured from the recoil of the last shot, the grass is going to get very green over coming weeks where Marty was lying, Marty will probably need to buy a new shirt.

When superimposed onto an 800M ICFRA target they're not.
