Bendigo has come and gone all so quickly. What a great weekend, sorry most of you missed out.
I shoot at Bendigo as much as I can and I have never seen the absolute absence of wind like saturday, it was dead, and the scores reflected this.
There were 9 FO and 13 FS from a field of 66 shooters, once again the F Class shooters were around the 30% of entries and further highlights the fact we are here to stay.
In contrast, Sunday turned into a real test of composure with the wind it's usual Bendigo self coming in from the right in gusts that left one wondering. Fortunately the rain held off but the southerly was biting.
This was a first effort by the combined #2and #3 DRA's and hopefully it will become a feature event on the Vic calender.

Bruce,

Given his tender years (in F-Class!), Paul (Pest Bird) Janzso was a credit to his state. The best part was he didn't make any political statements - just came to enjoy the shooting! In fact we thought he was such nice bloke we had a quiet word to the markers to give him a possible  . But seriously, first time at the range, and with all his gear in the early stages of development, to get a possible was pretty amazing.

Barry,

You obviously got up earlier than I did. Here's the full results in a downloadable (Adobe Acrobat) form. CLICK HERE.

Many thanks to Highland Sports, and Geoff Grenfell for their generous sponsorship at the meeting.

Alan,
Thanks for full results. For those who don't know, Geoff Auhl is a Castlemaine shooter and his story would be one of success.
Geoff Is over 65 and a Viet Veteran who had no formal shooting experience apart from his army days. He turned up at Castlemaine range about 18 months ago for " a look " , had a shot with an F class rifle and immediately fell in love with the sport. Geoff is an accomplished FS shooter now and can hold his own with most ( even his teacher )
THIS is what FS is about and Heaven Forbid that anyone tries to change it Dramatically.
Just thought you all might be interested in that little story.

G'Day all,
I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed the shoot and a huge congrat's to all the behind the scenes people who we shooters do not see or know who to thank.
It was my first major FO shoot and I will be back for more! It was great to put faces to names and enjoy your company. I must admit I had reservations about my posts on wind flags as I thought I might be burnt at the stake as witch or lynched but thankfully it did not happen! I reckon the little .223 is a great cartridge but I was loosing points where the 6mm's were not. It could be my inexperience but only time will tell for sure. Maybe I need to pay more attention to the flags!!!!!!! ( thats a joke Joyce!)
Cheerio Ned
