Mackay Queens
I guess that many of us got today's email about the next NQ Queens being the last at Mackay!
Does this mean that the Mt Vince range is closing?

Bob, Bruce Scott gave us a bit of a run down at the Mareeba OPM yesterday.
Apparently Mt Vince Range is being sold to the Mackay Council and as such will cease to be a military run range. This will also mean changing the safety template from a military one to one issued by Qld police. There is uncertainty over council budgets and licensing arrangements although still a great deal of hope that Mt Vince will remain a shooting range.
It was decided by NQRA council to move the NQ Queens to Townsville for 2014 for sake of certainty. Townsville has spent the last few years setting up for this scenario and will be a great place to hold the Queens.

Hi all,
I am just after some information regarding the NQ Queens. Having never travelled to far from home for shooting events, what are the mounds like at the Mt Vince Range. i.e. Dirt, grass, deco etc. Just want to make sure I have my bases covered as it will be a tight time frame to get there on time due to work.
Looking forward to it. Anyone else shooing F Open??
Regards
Craig.

Some very impressive shooting there. Dave Mac on fire and reaping the rewards of all those Cormorants he has despatched over the years with a bit of snap shooting !!
What a great warm up and confidence booster for those of you headed to Raton in August.
Keep those scoreboard photos coming and good luck to all in the Queens.

Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.
