Great Southern DRA 100th anniversary PM this weekend.

The GSDRA 100th anniversary (not the 100th shoot) is being held this coming weekend in Albany, WA. The associations are expecting a big field to attend, due to both the location being one of the best around, superb onsite facilities (like a huge grassed caravan park with power etc), great weather and good prizes to be had.

The weather lately has been a bit interesting, with strong fishtail headwinds making even some very good shooters look ordinary. The afternoon sea breeze can be tricky as well.

We (sponsors and committee) hope for at least 100 competitors. It looks good so far with about 30-40 people onsite already on the Tuesday - 3 days before the comp starts.

There are some good prizes to be won like I said, with one being our sponsorship, in conjunction with MAB barrels (TS Engineering, QLD) for a new barrel including fitting for the handicap winner in the aggregate (value around AU$700). This has been mentioned in other threads, but is basically the person shooting the most over their red book average for the agg. Has nothing to do with winning ranges, it is merely for the individual shooting against themselves. This is both FS and TR, with a special spreadsheet being developed specifically for this purpose by Mary Brown and input by Ros Dixon and myself.

Other sponsors include XXXX Beer for the top prize, Bertola Hire Albany, Mitre 10 Albany, and others will be added later. Thanks to the sponsors of this and all other PM's, as they could not operate without their generous support.

If anyone can attend this weekend, come down and have a go, it is a great weekend, plenty of shooting, cold beer and friendly atmosphere.
