Potential use of Super V target for ACT Qns - F - Open

#1 Postby Tiger » Thu Jul 09, 2009 6:14 pm

What are peoples thoughts about using the Fullbore target with a Super-V for the Queens in Canberra this year?

For and against, lets have a vote.

Cheers.

Way to go
Should go that way permanently, more likely to be widely accepted

I personally would support it but think it should be done the way we would like it to continue i.e. discuss the pros and cons of various scoring methods, signalling, all white or white ring etc. If it is done well at Canberra, then others will follow, so if we can get it right first time, it is more likely to succeed. The NRAA was dead against it being used in the SA vs Vic Teams Event at Bendigo, so we need to convince them of its merits. If it works well both for organisers and competitors at Canberra, then it will be hard for the NRAA to ignore.

I'm happy to run a poll which just says "Do you want the Super V used for F-Open at Canberra?". That will be a good start. But I also think the details should be discussed, and perhaps one or two more polls run to decide on things such as 50.10 vs. 60.10 vs. 70 scoring.

Alan,
Thanks for offering to put the polls up, much appreciated.

Hoping that we can have a good outcome for the ACT Queens.

Cheers

We have been trialling the SUPER V in SA for over 12 months now
and has been well accepted by the majority of shooters in this state.

The ability to squad all f-Class together has comprehensive benefits
Unfortunately we were not permitted to use this at the national teams event Bendigo 2009 which would have provide a great opportunity to trial at a big event.
From a teams point of view it’s allot easier to coach into the 6 ring 1moa than .5 moa 10 ring on the championship target.

This alteration to the current TR target is very close to the international F-Class target when the ICFRA target are introduces it will be the international F-Class target.

The fact that any person or club can reproduce these on as need basis and at a very cheap cost is also a benefit as clubs don’t have to order stock that may or may not be used reducing the holding cost of these organisations.
The SUPER V is available for download FREE from the http://www.safclass.com web site 24/7
Cheers
