Hello All
NQ Queens starts Saturday and runs through to Monday. The range is on the western side of Mackay at Mount Vince. It is a picture card look.
There is a leadup shoot today, we are not shooting in that, but will try and get to the range later in the day and see how things are going.
Tomorrow we kick off at 7.30am. 3/5/600 yds. I will post results Saturday night.

G day All
Back from the range. We had 8 F Open shooters for the queens. A late starter will make 9 tomorrow.
We kicked off at 7.30am at 300 yds with reasonable conditions, a slight fish tail. The great thing up here at this time of the year is the weather. 17c to about 25c today.
At 500 yds the conditions were still ok with a little more wind and mirage. Everyone was watching with interest as the first 3 shooters had 99, 99 & 100. We then realised the target we were shooting on was a 600yd target. Anyway it was fun to watch the "good" scores posted.
600yds and things got a little tricky. A lot more wind, fish tailing etc. Andrew Pearce top scored with a very good 97 and went on to take the days aggregate.
Scores for day one:
Andrew Pearce: 97, 99, 97 = 293 (6mm Dasher)
Dave Stewart: 98, 99, 95 = 292 (6.5 Rogue or 6.5x55imp)
Bill McLanachan: 99, 96, 96 = 291 (6br ? )
Peter Smith: 98, 100, 92 = 290 (6.5 Rouge)
Cameron McEwan : 99, 99, 91 = 289 (6br)
John Smith : 96, 97, 91 = 284 (6brx)
Bevan Appleby : 96, 96, 91 = 283 (6XC)
Julie McEwan : 94, 99, 89 = 282 (6br)
Scores are close at this stage of the shoot so it will be interesting at the longer ranges.
More news tomorrow night hopefully.

Sorry for the late report.
Another good day at the range.
First 600yd range was quite easy with very little movement of the flags. But every so often unexplained shots came up.
The second 600 yd was a different story. The wind up quite strong and fish tailing. Mirage was constantly changing and not always in sync with the flags.
The last range for the day 700yds, much the same conditions only harder.
I was lucky enough to win the day's agg after a shoot off with Dave Stewart.
Our late arrival, Marty Lobert was a welcome shooter for day two.
Scores for day two:
Cameron McEwan : 99, 99, 94 = 292 (284win)
Dave Stewart: 98, 97, 97 = 292 (6.5 Rogue or 6.5x55imp)
Peter Smith: 99, 95, 95 = 289 (6.5 Rouge)
Marty Lobert: 99, 95, 93 = 287 (284win)
Bill McLanachan: 98, 96, 92 = 286 (6x47l)
Julie McEwan : 97, 94, 90 = 281 (6.5x55)
Andrew Pearce: 98, 94, 88 = 280 (6mm Dasher)
John Smith : 97, 96, 85 = 278 (6brx)
Bevan Appleby : 93, 91, 89 = 273 (6XC)
As usual it will come down to the longer ranges on day three. 2 x 800 meter.
Back again tomorrow,
Cameron

Back again, all over for another year.
RB, you got it right
" all the scores seem to be close so it will be down to he who reads the wind the best and a little luck as always"
Yes, the last 800mtr range was really hard and a number of shooters could have got the Gold.
Dave Stewart shot really well to win the Queens.
The day saw another shoot off for the daily agg between Bill McLanachan and Andrew Pearce. Bill got the money.
Scores in order of Queens Agg with todays scores:
Todays scores and Queens Agg.
Dave Stewart: 96, 91 = 187 (6.5 Rogue or 6.5x55imp) 771
Cameron McEwan : 98, 89 = 187 (284win) 768
Bill McLanachan: 94, 95 = 189 (6x47l) 766
Andrew Pearce: 98, 91 = 189 (6mm Dasher) 762
Peter Smith: 98, 84 = 182 (6.5 Rouge) 761
Julie McEwan : 89, 89 = 178 (6.5x55) 741
John Smith : 93, 86 = 179 (6brx) 741
Bevan Appleby : 91, 88 = 179 (6XC) 735
Marty Lobert: 97, 91 = 188 (284win) 475 (2 days)
