We don't have as many members from WA, but good luck to all competitors there too. As before, if you're able to post any info from "the frontline" during the Queens, please do so on this Forum.
I believe the results will be posted HERE.

Hi all
I was going to post some scores from the Duke of Edinburgh but they are available on the WARA website - see the link Alan posted.
Weather was a warm 31 degrees on Friday, starting with a light easterly which changed to westerly in a period of around 5 minutes. Had the requisite ups and downs in strength and angle during the change. Afternoon breeze was light but with sufficient variation in strength and direction to keep people on their toes. Some constant patches though. Shot ranges 300, 400, 500 , 600 yards.
Saturday start was delayed slightly due to rain and wind. We started in the rain anyway at 800 yards and finished the DoE at 900 yards - winds were quite tricky at times.
The Queens started with 500 and 600 yards Sat arvo in mild conditions and Sunday we shot 300, 400, 500 & 600 yards. Good conditions but again, enough in the wind to catch the unwary.
The following Queens scores (total of 6 ranges) have been collected from others notes and the last range scoreboards - I apologise for any transcription errors, please check the WARA website (when results are available) to confirm.
F-Open
B Hallam 589 (inc 100 @ 300yds)
B Bunyan 586 (inc 100 @ 400yds)
W Brown 571
M Hambleton 570
M Hamersley 568
J Ayer 558
J Green 548
R Hurst 519
F-Std
J Collins 349 (inc 60 @ 600yds)
G Owen 347
J Clarke 346
T Sheedy 340
M Brown 338
T Whittemore 338
G Warrian 336
R Lee 315
P Connolly 293
Should be some good tussles in both classes during the final day - 800, 900 & 1,000 yds. Looks like we will start with a light easterly wind changing to westerly around midday.

Hi all
The WA Queens finished with F-Open being decided at the last range (1,000 yds). Fine conditions although the wind was unpredictable at times. Bill Hallam won by 2 points after a nail biting attempt by Brett Bunyan to peg back his lead.
F-Std was even closer with Jeff Collins and Geoff Owen tied after the last range. Jeff Collins won the ensuing shoot-off.
All up a good showing by all f-class shooters and congrats to all who participated.

Hi Alan
I think I have most of these right, most people are using 6mm.
I used 6.5x55AI, Rick Hurst .223, Brett Bunyan .243AI, Justin Green 6BRX, Bill Hallam 6BRX, Warwick Brown and John Ayer .243, not sure what flavour of 6mm Mal Hambleton uses (.243?). Warwick also used his 6PPC barrel at 300 yds.
Rick and Justin were new to the Queens and put in some good performances in trying conditions. Justin won the 900 and 1,000 ranges!
Bill has been shooting a lot of f-std and promoting it as well but did shoot open. Jeff Collins was initially going to shoot open but felt his .223 was shooting better than his 6BR. After the match I think he and Tony Whittemore will continue with std as their preference. Interesting to note that in a number of cases the only difference between the std and open rifles was calibre.
regards
Mark

Thanks Mark - good info. BTW the Queens results for F-Class still haven't made the WARA website so that makes your results info very valuable.
A BRX built by Bill Hallam is making its presence felt here in Vic too (Daniel Bennett). And we have one of your top WA shooters arriving to join my club in a week or two (Shane Quaintmere) and he has another Hallam BRX! My 6.5 is is going to be severely tested!
