Yes, I guess you'll need to find a competitive load, not always easy with a new calibre.

How much room will you have between the fore-end stop on the seb and the bottom of your barrel? I found mine was touching the barrel at times (bendigo queens), depends a bit on the angle of the mound versus the target.

I ended up removing it from the rest and fitting it in the rail on my rifle.

Would be interested to hear how you get on.

Danny, This does seem like it will be a slight problem. I havn't fitted the action/barrel as yet, though even without, it seems to be a fine margin as to it hitting the barrel or missing the underside of the scolloped stock.... I will let you know when I assemble.
Are you using a parallel 1.25" barrel or tappered?

I might have to manufactur some sort of Y stop to fit either side of the barrel?

This a problem with the trend towards low profile fore-ends. I am looking at a design at present where the barrel is only 5mm above the base of the fore-end. I use a different approach to a stop - it is on the rifle side of the rest top. This needs something protruding from the base of the stock of course, which in your case Jeff would mean a modification to the stock, which I'm sure you don't want to do when its brand new!

hi Matt. I have a no.4 taper in a McMillan F Class stock. Distance from the bottom of the barrel to the underneath of the fore-end is 18mm.

On the mounds at Hamilton it used to clear the fore-end stop ok but as I said shoot on mounds like Bendigo and the angle of the rifle in the rest changes. Not good for group sizes

I looked at thinning down the forend stop but then there was the chance of the rifle sliding over the top of it.

Just had another look at your stock photo, it has some eyes (metal fittings in the side of the forend) is it possible to make a U shape fitting that goes under the forend but is held on by something going into the aforementioned eyes. I know that sounds a bit vague but I'm just going by the pic.

probably got moulded cornices inside. and a chandalier.
back to the thread.
fclass and forend stops can be conflictual due to mound geometry.
my stop has been removed and there now resides on the forend a texta colour mark that lines up with the bag.
works well.
matt (aka bigdog) could even consider a file or hacksaw witness mark on his forend for a more professional look.

the colour matt (aka bigdog) chose seems a little less masculine than i expected he would choose.
i would not go so far as to say it looks a bit effeminate, but at least it is not tactical (practical) camo.
a good "paint and pimp" would lift it no end.
