We experimented with laser guiding and decided to just use a 2Kw power laser to burn an 8mm hole in the middle of the X Ring

Funding has been a problem , so far....... :)

Seddo , it is a nice round to play with. I used one about 10 years ago. Great accuracy. I used 80g Sierra's and JLK's. The down side is the throat errosion. Also if you go down this path, work your loads up carefully, the primer and bolt lift give little indication of pressure due to the straight walled case gripping the chamber.

How would a 300 H&H go Bruce?

not so silly after all.... though their x ring may have been bigger...

"The 375 H&H dates back to 1912 and the British wanted a long range calibre and designed it around the very same case, necked down to a .308 calibre during 1920.
In 1935, Ben Comfort won the prestigious 1000 yard Wimbledon Cup with his 300 H&H which led to Winchester chambering for the calibre in 1937. "
