A year on and 1 becomes 2

#1 Postby UL1700 » Mon Dec 10, 2018 11:41 am

So after a year or so of F class and mistakenly inviting my wife along, we finally have two actions up and running. Both conform to the same basic principles Barnard P actions with Krieger barrels and Rob Eager custom carbon and wood stocks. Sophie is going to be concentrating her efforts with the Dasher in Fopen and I will be returning my attention to F TR. I would like to say a huge thank you to Rob Eager for the stocks, David Brewster for the barrels, Triple J for the actions and all the various shooters who have supported and encouraged us along the way. I won't name them all here but without the support and advice we get we at the ranges we wouldn't be where we are today especially with a 10 month old :D So happy shooting for the year ahead and hopefully we will meet more friendly faces and make more competitions in the coming months.

Yes but then they out shoot you week after week, Sophie shot a 60.10 at 500 the other week in some slightly tricky conditions! Thankfully I just point out that she couldn't do it without some exceptional loading on my part [-o<

I noticed that you were shooting a left bolt rifle right handed at Vic Queens. I knew I recognised the rifles from somewhere. I also noticed your wife got on the podium with her efforts with her Dasher.

Yes Sophie did sneak up on there on day one! She was pretty pleased and loves the left hookers although a 7mm is now on the shopping list  I also really hampered her at 1000 as I had made a windage correction table but in the rush to finish it before leaving I messed up a formula and it got increasingly inaccurate. The result, she went from a 2 on the right to a 1 on the left for her 1st 2 sighters. It took her a few shots to recover but she finished with a XX6X6. Overall a good result (we certainly don't plan to come home with a medal each) and a good learning experience for both of us. We certainly plan to be back next year!

Cheers,

James.
