Double or Single point sling

#1 Postby Gerard » Wed Nov 23, 2016 6:19 pm

Out of interest what Sling configuration do you guys use and why?

I started with a double point sling that also wrapped over the top wood on my rifle. (Jim Rush style!).
It was a *very solid position, but I found it to be painful and my hand would often go quite numb.
Possibly I just had the sling too tight and I didn't at that time have an adjustable rear butt pad, so configuring for painfree yet stable shooting was challenging.

I then moved to a single point sling, which is not uncomfortable but appears more subject able to wind buffeting.
The single point sling I have has a screw tensioner for ease of adjustment, but so far it just surprises me when it unscrews in transit and I have to scramble to find the fittings ;)

So what are you guys using?
I understand there is an increasing move back to double point slings these days..

I'm using a single point simply because of the kiss method. In saying that I've never tried the double point because I've never had the need to.
