BR2 Primers

#1 Postby Kingy » Tue Jan 14, 2014 9:18 am

Hi all,

Loading advice needed please.

I am going to test some CCI BR2 primers… I have been using the CCI large primers.

I have been told these will burn hotter…

Does this mean I need to reduce the load at all ?

I have been using 44.4 gns of 2206H in Remington .308 brass.

Thanks

Kingy,

My experience with CCI 200 vs CCI BR-2 is they are so similar in performance you won't need to adjust your load. Maybe your informant was referring to CCI 250s? They are the magnum version and are definitely hotter.

Paul, here is an interesting article on 6mmbr.
It doesn't show both of the primers you are discussing, though does show how different the burn rates of a variety of primers can be.
