Our club leases part of our land to the SSAA, the lease is up for renewal, trying to work out a fair market value.
Upto 600 yards for rifle, a clay target area, concrete block office including male & female loos. Fortnightly Sunday access.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
Danny

Re: Leasing a range

Re: Leasing a range
Hi Danny,
When we were at Sth Bendigo the VRA charged each club member $50 per year for the use of the range and facilities. And that was whether you used it or not. Club fees were on top of that.
Not unreasonable.

Re: Leasing a range
Bruce, the Rifle Club owns the range and have leased part of it to SSAA for over 20 years. The last 5 years have been at $500 per annum, the last couple of years due to increases in rates and the Fire services levy have basically yielded us nothing.
Our club range fees are $10 per time yet we only receive $20 per day when SSAA shoot, ie 26 Sunday’s per year divided by $500.

Re: Leasing a range
Barry, I would say $50 per member per year is unreasonable, that could be as little as $1 a week, way to little to cover expenses

Re: Leasing a range
Depends on the number of SSAA using the range . If there were 50 of them = $2500 per year.
How many SSAA use the range ?

Re: Leasing a range
View the SSAA shooter numbers and set a daily rate rather than individual shooter charge, this avoids honesty issues. Remember if your club has range maintenance responsibilities, by additional use, they have to be met. Take the heat off working bees a little. Prior to any negotiations, It is imperative that SSAA take out ADDITIONAL liability insurance with your club's name as the primary protected party. Their open policy would is not sufficient unless your clubs name is actually included by endorsement, in their policy. Remember we live in a very litigious society. Litigation breeds bad blood, been there done that.

Re: Leasing a range
So is our club the only one that leases out facilities to the SSAA?
