Maybe it's the way I read it... But that looks like a total cop out for the NRAA!

Yes a victory for common sense. We have a Board who listens. Its now time to stop the talking and get on with the shooting, as a unified group of TR and F-Class.

Hang on..... The NRAA say they have passed the decision of awarding "Queens" badges or otherwise onto the respective state or territory associations. Unless the state or territory involved is willing to award a "Queens" badge for F class, nothing much has changed.

Tasmania comes first this year (in about a week from now) It will be interesting to see what their badges represent, and then comes Victoria, the badges are no doubt already made and on hand.

Tom,

Just as some states began to fall into line and remove the Queens name, you'll find they'll now fall into line and put it back. I believe its now a wait and see situation. Its understandable that some Queens organisers may have already ordered "non-Regal" badges. Its what they do next time that matters.

Quote:
The NRAA wish to advise that following our discussions we have decided the award system is entirely at the discretion of the State Association as is the wording they require on their Queens badges.

We have a unique system in Australia and our tradition of awarding excellence no matter what discipline is one of the reasons why the F class disciplines flourish today.

Please support your States Annual Championships and enjoy your shooting.

Common sense does indeed rule. =D> =D>
The wording acknowledges the growth of F class disciplines, and, their importance to the continued growth of full bore in general. It also, in stating the Australian tradition, as above, that if their is no recognition, then there will be diminished support for major competitions, IE: Queens Events.
The State Associations have no option but to fall inline and keep our 'unique system' in place seeing that it has been, and will continue to be, so successful.
Queens Competitions are the greatest public relations events possible for the whole of Australian full bore shooters and their associations.
I see this as an acceptance, by the NRAA, of equality for all the classes.

Great result. We all lay on the same mound and shoot at the same target. The less differences we have between disciplines the better off we all are.

The NRAA have listened and responded in a positive way.
We have to be greatful for this action.
Like Alan said, we need to get on with shooting. To quote Ernie Mace a little while back, "some shooters that want to be arm chair shooters".................

I heard unofficially yesterday, that the VRA will be issuing Queens Badges this year. Let's hope that is correct.

Cheers
Danny

Thank you NRAA for giving back to us something you should'nt have taken in the first place.
Yes, we are UNIQUE and that's why we are so successful.

An email just received from the VRA confirms that F Class badges will be " Queens " Badges for the forthcoming Queens comp in April.

Received that from our Chairman's mouth at the pennant today too. Actually Gary was a little more cautious and said he was pretty confident that the change could be got through in time for this year. Either way the intent is there and it wasn't the VRA's fault that the NRAA told them to do it.

HOWEVER Without wishing to rain on the current parade of happiness I note that while the NRAA has said that the S&Ts can do as they choose it HASN'T said that the title will be reinstated at the National Queens.
