Firstly happy new year to you all.
My younger Brother and his family have sold up in Sydney and are moving back to our home state of Queensland, Bundaberg specifically. He was thinking of taking his firearms with him during the move, but I had suggested he may not want to take firearms registered in NSW across the border permanently without contacting a dealer in Queensland first.
I was hoping to get some advice from my friends north of the border on Queensland firearms & licence transfers.
Any advice appreciated.

Re: Queensland transfers
Worth skipping through the Weapons Licensing Branch section of the Qld Police web site. Up here, they're quite reasonable & I'm pretty sure that they have details of interstate transfer & licensing covered: https://www.police.qld.gov.au/programs/ ... licensing/

Re: Queensland transfers
Thanks John,
There is a travel section in that link which explains moving to Queensland. Appears interstate licences are recognised for up to three months while a decision is made on your application.
Thanks again,
Ben

Re: Queensland transfers
Happy New Year Ben
He will need proof of a Queensland address
Storage requirements met at new address
New passport photos
Weapons List of firearms currently held
I believe he can transport them personally otherwise the usual interstate transfer is only dealer to dealer.
Cheers
Shane
PS I probably have missed something but WLB Qld reopen next Monday 5th contact them on 07 3015 7777
