Laurie was a Target and Match Rifle shooter of great merit. He was a
disciple of George Swenson, one of the great fullbre coaches of the time.
Laurie shot in the prestigous Elcho Match for England on several occasions.
He participated in 1970 in the birth of the SWING action (for SWenson and
INGram). He stocked the prototype barreled action, and is very likely the
one who fired the first shot in the ''No Number" prototype he possess and
later lent to the NRA Museum, and will certainly return in this great home
place soon.
In 1978 Laurie and family moved to South of France, and soon resumed
shooting in joining also the Normandy Rifle Club, and continued to attend
Bisley Meetings.
He started FClass shooting sime 10 years ago, and won several competitions
in the Imperial Meeting.
The INCH concept (INgram-CHombart) started from a concept discussion berween
them, and the action was named such by the designer due to Laurie being the
generator f the theoretical concept.
He was a memeber of the prestiheous 'Stickledown Cluub'..
He died after a long fight against cacer on the 10th January 2010 at age of
71 He leaves his wife Eve, son Stuart, daughter Liz and 4 grandchildren.
