Which 155 has the highest BC?

#1 Postby Foxy » Thu Jun 19, 2008 11:46 pm

Sierra, Dyer or Nosler?

I read in another topic that there is a 4th projectile for FS/FB?
I wasn't aware of that.
Any info?
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.

The NRAA have approved the use of the BJD HBC 155 projectile. But the implementation date has not been set. I guess that will depend on how long it takes to run down the stocks of older BJD's

Calculated BC of the HBC is 0.5
The claimed BC for the 154 Lapua is 0.5 ( Not approved)
The claimed BC for the Sierra 155 is between 0.417 and 0.45
I understand that the highest BC is from the 155.5 Berger claimed to 0.51 also (not approved)
The old Dyer was calculated to be 0.44

Thanks Ken.
If the new Dyers do have a similar BC to the Scenar, then that's great news.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.

A suggestion from a newbie, go have a look in the recent Precision Shooting mags, i'm sure they've been running ACTUAL comparisons...

The new Dyer seems to have a slight BC advantage over the current options. Does anyone know if it has been evaluated extensively for accuracy? I say this because I remember reading about a line of extremely high BC projectiles from a company called Lost River - they never caught on because their accuracy was terrible.
