Hello
I am new to the forum and also largely to f class shooting. I apologize if this topic has already been covered, but I am looking for some information and advice on the angle m80 platform. To start I am from Canada and recently picked up an m80. The rifle has seen better days but is intact and seems to function correctly. I have two questions.
1 is this still a viable option to build a f class rig on?
2 if so, does anyone know what tbe barrel thread diameter and pitch would be?

Sorry I can’t help with first hand knowledge of that platform.
However you are definitely in the right place, I’d be shocked if Keith Hills (KHGS) didn’t know what you need, welcome aboard

You are looking to shoot in a sport that is the Formula1 equivalent in the shooting world. You wouldn't use a 1980's platform to build a race car on, so why do it in F class? You will be adding expensive bits to an old platform and every time you put you hand in your pocket to buy almost anything you will be spending more than the value of the action.
The cheapest things amortised over time in F Class are the action and the scope, because you can recover most of the purchase price on sale.
The M80 was a good thing in its day, but now there are many better options that have spare parts available and a knowledge base to back them up.

I am currently running two angels in 284 and one in 6.5x55. They are very similar to a Barnard, but have aftermarket triggers fitted. The critical parts of an "F" Class rig are the barrel and telescope. The rest boils down to personal choice.

In answer to your second question, barrel tenon diameter is 1.062” X 1.000” long, thread pitch is 1.5mm.

Great. Thank you for the advice. I may just use it a plinking rifle or cut it loose and move on.
Can anyone identify the stock that is on the rifle. The guy I got it from said it was a manners but I'm sure that is not true.

That's a MacMillan prone stock, copy of an Anschutz
