Hey guys, after a conversation at the range today, I've been trying to find the legal amount of smokeless gun powder I'm aloud to keep at home in Queensland. I was under the impression that we could store up to 12kg at home, but I was told today that it's only 4kg.
Problem being, my computer skills have resticked my search for the correct answer. If anyone knows the answer or can show a link to answer my question that would be very much appreciated.
Scott.

With respect to Queensland - Schedule 4 of the Explosives Regulation 2003("Explosives exempt from section 44 of Act") includes:
" Propellant powders stored by a person who holds a licence under the Weapons Act 1990—
(a) maximum amount 15kg; or
(b) if the powders are stored on a property larger than 2ha—maximum amount 30kg.
10 Propellant powders stored by a person licensed to sell the powders—maximum amount 100kg. "

Who comes up with this garbage...
15kg's on a residential block, ok, for what ever reason 15kgs ( A small amount, especially if you shoot multiple calibres) seems to be the safe amount for an average block size of say 500sqm in Brisbane, but your welcome to have only double that amount (30kg's) on 2ha's, which for those not in the know is just 40 times the average, or, 20,000sqm.
What masterful logic do these people use to deduce such fascinating legislation.
My Guess, a bag of dice.
