Re: ACT Queens

Tim, We look forward to your unique commentary from the coalface, so sorry to hear we'll have to wait till your next escapade. The last thing you need at Canberra is a barrel of "questionable character". Of all the Queens ranges Canberra would have to be the biggest lottery. If you're at t...

Re: Shooting Australia's target sport athlete of the year

Well deserved Rod. But I think the title of F-Open World Individual Champion doesn't really need any other awards. That was one hell of a performance.

Yes that's correct. Someone else may know who that is.

BTW I learnt recently that we've had another F-Class shooter on the Board for some time. I noticed that George Wittorff shot F/TR in the WARA Queens series.

WARA Queens

This has been run and won without mention on this forum - I dropped the ball because its usually been after the NSWRA Queens. "See Results Here" . Congratulations to all the winners. There were some very good performances, particularly in F-Open and F/TR, which are now getting a decent sha...

Re: New Barrel

I think its fair to say that the majority of top level shooters do run their barrels in, and they are probably the best guide to what is worth doing and what isn't. I've run in about 20 6.5/7mm barrels in my career and have never questioned the need. I believe that 7.62 barrels are less prone to cop...

Re: Rifle weighing scales.

Alan, the VRA has always had a certified set of scales and a trigger weight and these are available for the use of members. They are always with me when I am officiating on the range. I would have thought that most VRA members knew that. Certainly all who attended the VRA are familiar with them. Ca...

Re: Rifle weighing scales.

Peter,

As CRO of Victoria, perhaps you could persuade the VRA to invest in some certified weights. This would allow shooters to bring their own scales (or personal weights) to Bendigo to check them.

Re: NRAA Elections for Director Positions - Nov 2nd

Great to see you putting your hand up Albert. Your presence on the Board will inject some much needed enthusiasm, energy and optimism. To all, there is work to be done. If there are several F-Class nominees then we have an opportunity (at last) to get fair representation at Board level. Let's not bl...

There's nothing to say you haven't got a real shooter, but you'll need to go further back to find out :) .

Re: Ladder test- what went wrong?

...Should I be getting more than 20mm vert?... I'm afraid the short answer is no Tim. I estimate you should get a velocity difference of less than 40fps with that charge weight range, and that will translate to only about 10mm at 300yd. As Matt said, probably better to do it at say 500 (it will app...

Re: NRAA Elections for Director Positions - Nov 2nd

Bob, Congratulations on being one of the best Board members of recent times. Not only have you been the main advocate for F-Class, but your work in the Rules and IT areas has made a real difference across the whole organisation. You can hang up your boots in the knowledge that your considerable effo...
