Re: WTB SEB NEO REST

Just my two cents but I would seriously consider the Mini if you want portability or the MAX if you can handle it. If I were to get a medium weight rest I would probably go a Farley. That said I have shot off all mentioned except the NEO :)

Re: Motivational Music

Normally luck of the draw what comes next in the download list on my phone, can be anything from Metallica to Paul Kelly to DMAs and Placebo. Covers Rock, new rock, metal, brit pop folk and a bit of pretty much anything else in between. I rocked up to the range the other week and I just got to the e...

Re: Benchmark 8208 / 155.5 / 308 FTR

I am wondering why you're using 115.5s. These are a very capable projectile and used to great effect buy F std. But when you swap that rest for a bipod you will need every advantage you can get, and once you get back to the longs the bullet bc becomes a definate advantage. It was on the advice of D...

Re: Problems with CCI 450s

primers.jpg So if you have a minimum depth pocket and maximum thickness primer you have to crush 9thou to seat flush or the other worst case max pocket and min primer, you only have 1 thou of crush, to maintain 8 thou below the surface. So I guess that the next logical question is how does potentia...

Re: Benchmark 8208 / 155.5 / 308 FTR

James, David is a great guy and an excellent gunsmith. He is a person who shoots 8208 well and would be my first port of call having chambered the rifle. Give him a bell. It is essential that you realize 8208 is not the same powder that is 2208 and requires significantly less than 2208 to be effect...

Re: Problems with CCI 450s

Rightly or wrongly, I don't touch the pockets and seat the primer so that the seating tool leaves a light, uniform imprint so a slight crush and other than fire forming have never had a problem. I know two people who bought primer seating tools that set the depth the 1st thing both of them experienc...

Re: Benchmark 8208 / 155.5 / 308 FTR

James, I have used those sand bags and found unless packed correctly you will get bounce and so it makes it very difficult to find a tight spot. You are better off with a bit of plate welded in a frame topped with marine carpet. Do load development in .2 grain increments. Get a set of calipers and ...

Benchmark 8208 / 155.5 / 308 FTR

So I'm going to be pulling the FTR rig out in the new year and have been hearing rumours and reading a bit about using 8208 behind the 155.5 Bergers. I have been running 2208 and had a good accuracy node around 44.4 grains but have been struggling to find a sweet spot with anything much hotter. Does...

Yes but then they out shoot you week after week, Sophie shot a 60.10 at 500 the other week in some slightly tricky conditions! Thankfully I just point out that she couldn't do it without some exceptional loading on my part [-o<
