Re: Barnard action questions

I can tell you it depends on whether or not you lose any of the fussy little parts on the floor. Seriously, I found easier to do with the bolt clamped in a small "desk' mounted vice with plastic jaws, which frees up both hands for the operation.

Re: Barnard action questions

You should not need a complete bolt. I have a switch barrel in 6mm Dasher / .223 Rem, and I only needed an additional BOLT BODY as the firing pin / spring etc was interchangeable. Ask Matt P, he is the expert. PS: I used to have only a 308 bolt, and changed the extractors, but it is a real "P i...

Re: Barnard action questions

I am having a real go at the 500 metre Fly Shooting circuit this year, and my Barnard Dual Port PC action is holding it's own against many of the "chrome" US custom actions, and yes, it is Vee Block Bedded. As an aside, the small amount of metal that was removed for the extra port, enabled...

Re: wilson reloading gear

I recently purchased a Wilson 7/8 Full Length Bushing Die for .223 Rem from ProCal ( call Luke, site sponsor) I am very impressed by the quality of this die which is made from stainless steel and I don't believe it is expensive compared to Redding. Just make sure that you use only Wilson brand bushi...

Stock Tape

If anyone is looking for a source of stock tape see here

http://embossingtapesupplies.com.au/uhm ... -tape.html

This stuff works and comes in a 16 metre roll by 62mm wide for about $160. One of our club members bought a roll and we are sharing the cost.

Re: Labour Still Trying to Shut Down ANZAC Range

I doubt if the local Kiddies can hear the "crack of rifle fire" as they will be most likely be on their Playstation, with their Headphones and Virtual Reality goggles up at full volume "Killing" imaginary bad guys with their imaginary semi/full auto weapons.

Re: Canberra Queens

Ironically, with a high tech target system the only thing that the spectators could watch was the "steam driven" Chalk/Black Board of the check scorer.

Re: WARNING Murom small rifle primer

Ben, I used the Murom KVB-223M in my Dasher at the fly shoot without problem. Batch number 4-13. However, some time back I tried some of the PMC Russian "standard" primers (these are copper coloured) and they were no good in either my .223 or Dasher as they pierced and cased bolt face carb...

Allan, What was the outcome of the annealing test? I am trying to get my Club to purchase an AMP Machine, but having purchased Bryan Litz's latest book seeking justification for purchase, I read that he finds no correlation between annealing and non annealing in his limited testing to date.

Re: Centre of Gravity

Lead shot mixed with polyester casting resin (or normal polyester resin but be careful not to use too much catalyst or it can catch fire) in a mold works also.

Re: Oz Score target system

I have been shooting on Ozscore for 4 1/2 years now. I do not use the Up/Down , Left/Right moa from centre info for anything except to dial in a wide/wild 1st sighter. It is a personal thing, but I judge my sight adjustment based on condition changes and placement of previous shot relative to the ri...

Sounds like you are building a 30BR. I had some thoughts about this cartridge for 500 metre Fly (when conditions are good)

Re: How to make laminate stock blanks?

You should look at 12.5mm Hoop Pine Marine Ply manufactured by Austral Plywoods. Last sheet (1200 x 2400) cost just over $220. This is of superior quality to the so called "Marine Ply" that you find at Hardware Warehouses. I use an epoxy 2 part boat builders glue designated RO45. Like Nath...
