Does this new 6.5x47 case have small rifle primer and small 060" flash hole like the 6mm BR cases?

Why not rechamber the existing barrel after cutting 2" off it?
At least you know the barrel is a good one ,its fully run in already.

I have just found out that the club rifle being built will be in 223 ,so I wont have to lend mine out when it gets built. I have decided I will get a true-flite barrel to turn the Sako into a 223. I have some other freinds I would like to get into F class ,so they can have a go with the 223 since it...

It is making me think about getting a 15" twist barrel to experiment with. I see that MAB is making 15" twist barrels in cut rifling. I hope the 15" twist will stabilize the 155gn bullets in the warm weather up here.

223s for F class standard

How many people out there are using a 223 for F standard? I am thinking about building up a 223 on my little Sako for myself or any new shooters to have a go with at club shoots. How do the 223s compare with the 308s when using the 80gn sierras?

I notice there arent many 223s being used in F standard. How do the 223s go with the 80gn sierras compared to the 308/155 combo?

I will be able to tell you in a few months or so. A freind has a 10" twist barrel coming for his 284/175 sierra combo which should be up and running soon. I will see how this goes as I have already ordered a 10" twist barrel for mine. The difference is we both shoot in warm weather (less dense air) ...

Is this measurement you are talking about the throat diameter? I know the throat on the 308 barrel you (Tony Z) took off my 308 must have had a very tight throat. If I didnt have much neck tension ,the tight thoat would push the bullet back in the case . For the first year I shot this chamber ,I tho...

So Tony ,are you saying it is the rotation speed causing the problems? You said 8" twist in the 6BR is OK, but not others ,I take it that this is because the 6BR is not pushing the bulets too fast ,but a faster caliber needs a slower speed to keep the rotation speed down. Or would still prefer a slo...

I,m pretty sure I will jump on the 7mm/284 bandwagon when my present barrel wears out. Some time through the middle of the year I will get the 284 barrel made up for the long ranges and use my smaller 22 and 6mms for the shorter ranges or low wind.

2206H VS 2208 in 308s

AS either powder is allowed to be used in full bore or standard F class, which ones do you prefer. I have always used 2208 as it is good for velocity ,but others have said it burns too dirty. What are the preferences for 308s out their. 2206H for its cleaner burning or 2208 for its better velocity. ...

The reason I was thinking of going to the 284 was that Sierra and Berger 175gn bullets are easy to get. With the new postal rules, it will be hard for me to get my 100 and 107 gn .224 bullets into the country. I was after this caliber for the longs or in high wind conditions. I am leaning more towar...

How about the 6.5mm Dasher???

What about a 6.5mm Dasher for short ranges (300yds) I was thinking that a 6.5mm Dasher would have a similar expansion ratio to a 6PPC and might be very accurate with medium weight flat base bullets at 300 yds and with slightly heavier boat tails at 500yds. Has anyone had any success with the 6.5 Das...
