Re: C.G MILLENIUM

Wonderful news Robert, thanks for letting us know! My 2003-vintage CG Millennium in a Flexi-bed stock has been my principle target rifle for some time now. When I push the bolt forward and rotate it into battery, the smoothness solidity and precision of the lockup sequence brings a smile to my face....

Re: Is there a market

A nice looking piece of work. If your mate is interested in an unsolicited suggestion... I see he is using a screw to hold it closed, my thoughts when I saw that were that it looks a bit fussy and it might get lost. Instead, what about embedded a couple of rare-earth magnets (e.g. 10mm diameter by 3...

Re: Tassie Queens

The e-targets don't have problems in the rain but I find that I get wet and I don't like that. Fortunately‚Äčthe rain stopped about 30-45mins before we were due to start shooting and we've been dry all day, with nice skies now as we are almost finished the final match of the day (2nd 800). This is my ...

Re: 7 second delay on ETs for US

Hi Alan, the US-NRA highpower committee will meet in a month or so, as they do every year, and decide what rules changes they might want to make for next year's shooting. Of course it is up to them, but if I had to guess I would expect that they will keep the existing rule as-is for another year, as...

Re: 7 second delay on ETs for US

Apparently the SMT showed a value straight away then gave a delay? Yes that is correct: - fire shot - as soon as bullet reaches target, shooter and scorekeeper saw the VALUE of the shot (e.g. a 9 or an X), but the POSITION of it was not shown until a 7-second timer ran out In practice, most scoreke...

Re: fx 120 i

I bought one, I was looking for a nice high performance scale and the Fx-120i fits the bill. The good two things about it, which are worlds apart and completely different from all the cheapie electronic scales that I have used, are: ⋅ It actually holds a stable zero and doesn't drift &sdot...

Re: New V8 scope from Zeiss

... mrad adjustments..... Scopes with mrad adjustments usually have clicks that are 0.1 mrad (often labelled "1cm at 100m"), or half of that .05 mrad (which is what this V8 scope uses). For field-expedient purposes (including coaching!), one can treat a 0.1 mrad click as being 1/3 MOA (it...

Re: Some Comparitive Score Statistics

Alan - would love to see the spreadsheet. Not for the formulas (your explanation is complete and tells me everything I was looking for), but I am curious about the raw MOA group sizes being shot by TR etc, even with your cautionary explanations about interpreting it.

Re: Some Comparitive Score Statistics

What a great graph! I would also be very interested in seeing what it looked like without normalizing the group sizes; it would be neat to see the actual group size SD for TR/FTR/FS/FO shooters, across the different distances. Not necessarily of general interest, but I am intensely curious about the...

Can somebody explain to me either or both of the following: - what a Juenke machine measures - how it makes this measurement. I've seen one, and have seen it used. It has to do with sorting/selecting/assessing bullet quality. By measuring (by means unknown) of an important (but unknown) bullet param...

Non-members at Geelong shoot under instruction of accredited Range Officers. After about 3 or 4 visits we insist that they become members. Same situation as any non-member wanting to have a go on a range. I think that satisfies the insurance problem. W do pick up quite a few club members this way b...

Alan - not nearly as bad as you make it sound possible. Plus we are finally getting our range staff to be active and diligent on this sort of stuff.
