Re: Silver Mountain SOLO ET's

Thanks Peter, that satisfactorily explains my questions. I would think that on a range such as ours where no more that two targets would be in used any one time, the possibility of this happening would be so remote as to not give it consideration. However a question remains -- would a more sensitiv...

Re: Silver Mountain SOLO ET's

Thank you Daniel for that detail. Am I correct in concluding that all external acoustic targets are going to be susecptable to lost shots due to the "deadtime" / "recovery time" inherent in the sensors? Yes. How much is a matter of degree, depending on the factors you list, plus...

Re: Silver Mountain SOLO ET's

Hi Daniel, That does not really mean much unless you qualify it with the Actual distances measured. Barry OK Barry but I hope I don't put people to sleep. SOLO sensors have a detection range of about 7m for highly supersonic bullets like you would have at 200-600Y. If you are on a tight-pitch range...

Re: Silver Mountain SOLO ET's

Hi Daniel Just read your post here and accurate shooter, just wanting to clarify if you’ve done any testing of other systems? Or if your claims are just assumptions? Not particularly interested in a debate, I looked at the SOLO and ended up with a shotmarker Hi Simon, for all sorts of reasons I wis...

Re: Silver Mountain SOLO ET's

Hi Barry, a post I wrote on AccurateShooter a week or so ago might give you a better idea; if not, let me know and I can go into more depth. I will need to contact you then as shots are being reported on the smt when shots were fired 2 lanes away. Apart mic shielding I dont know what to do to stop i...

Re: Silver Mountain SOLO ET's

Hi Barry, I don't know if you want info/commentary from me (part owner of SMT), or if you'd prefer I stay out and leave it strictly to the owners/users...? Just say the word and I'll step back and stay mum. SOLO is a low-cost "consumer" oriented design however you should expect to get topn...

Re: FCWC 2021

Hi John I was the ICFRA FClass delegate around that time and I know of no proposals regarding Australia holding the FCWC. That doesn't mean it didn't happen, communications was a one way street. I got very little feed back from the NRAA but remember FC was alot smaller in those days. Regards Matt P...

Re: FCWC 2021

Good to hear Albert, I don't know how true the story is that the NRAA has never volunteered to host, but either way I think (for the reasons Shane raises) its high time we did. A bit tangential to the main point of this thread, but in the distant past I was a member of the ICFRA F-Class Committee a...

Re: C.G MILLENIUM

Wonderful news Robert, thanks for letting us know! My 2003-vintage CG Millennium in a Flexi-bed stock has been my principle target rifle for some time now. When I push the bolt forward and rotate it into battery, the smoothness solidity and precision of the lockup sequence brings a smile to my face....

Re: Is there a market

A nice looking piece of work. If your mate is interested in an unsolicited suggestion... I see he is using a screw to hold it closed, my thoughts when I saw that were that it looks a bit fussy and it might get lost. Instead, what about embedded a couple of rare-earth magnets (e.g. 10mm diameter by 3...

Re: Tassie Queens

The e-targets don't have problems in the rain but I find that I get wet and I don't like that. Fortunatelythe rain stopped about 30-45mins before we were due to start shooting and we've been dry all day, with nice skies now as we are almost finished the final match of the day (2nd 800). This is my ...

Re: 7 second delay on ETs for US

Hi Alan, the US-NRA highpower committee will meet in a month or so, as they do every year, and decide what rules changes they might want to make for next year's shooting. Of course it is up to them, but if I had to guess I would expect that they will keep the existing rule as-is for another year, as...

Re: 7 second delay on ETs for US

Apparently the SMT showed a value straight away then gave a delay? Yes that is correct: - fire shot - as soon as bullet reaches target, shooter and scorekeeper saw the VALUE of the shot (e.g. a 9 or an X), but the POSITION of it was not shown until a 7-second timer ran out In practice, most scoreke...
