Re: NSW Queens

Looking forward to this shoot as it has been a while since I have attended. Fingers crossed for good weather. Just have to do some final tuning on my 6x47 and hopefully it will hammer with the old 115 Dtacs Be good to see a 6mm win the queens :D I'll most likely throw a big 7 in for back up. Calibe...

Re: Question for the Omark experts

I will politely agree to disagree, if the metal became molten and was poured it would have flowed, yes brass and other metal are malleable, however pressure forming a metal is more appropriately labeled stretching when it’s forced into a cavity mould. Anyhow I don’t have any “flow” into the ejector...

Re: Given Current Component Availability...

Gentlemen - thanks for all the advice. I've got multiple options here I can have a think about! To those of you suggesting a 308 or 30 of some description - what about a 30-06 improved? The long neck would allow a fairly wide range of projectiles to be used and still be out of the donut area. Using...

Re: Ladder test- what went wrong?

I think that's a real dooooozie of a barrel Tim. What's happening is that with the same powder charge, it'd be spraying shots everywhere, but by increasing the charge in your ladder test, you've compensated perfectly for it's short comings. I'd send it back and insist on a refund. Bahahahaha. As a ...

Re: 7mm SAUM Rechamber/Barrel Life

Hi Keith, With all your years of cleaning your barrels and others that have gone through your shop, how do you recommend cleaning a barrel? Everyone has their own ideas. Your idea might save some new shooter a lot of grief down the track. Cheers, Trevor. I will be writing on this very subject on th...

Re: Ladder test- what went wrong?

7-300 ladder.png I attempted a ladder test on the weekend at 300yds 7mm-300WSM loads were 63.2gn of 2213 to 64.0gns at .2 incriments, shots 5&6 were 64gn. Should I be getting more than 20mm vert? Or do I have a very forgiving barrel? If you want to ladder test you need to do this at 700 yards p...

Always support your local (Australian) supplier where possible, he is there for that purpose & to provide valuable backup when you need it most.

Not needed if you "manage" your barrel cleaning correctly.

No problems and appreciate the feed back. Spoke to 4 people about their cleaning benchmark I.e. what picture do you see/discribe when the barrel is clean. All gave a similar answer. Then I asked them same question but, when your about to start a OPM or Queens, what’s clean/barrel ready look like. T...

Anyone use these in F open? Extremely keen price from Cleavers, I would be tempted but I just bought a couple of thousand 105 VLD Bergers... https://cleaverfirearms.com/Products.aspx?Search=24561%2045.90 James I've never seen a Hornady bullet match the level of accuracy obtained from a Berger. I di...

Re: Question for the Omark experts

If 1 thou allows brass to “flow” so be it! That’s such an incorrect term! If it was going to expand to fill the one thou depression it would more than definitely have been able to depress the ejector deeper than that. What I & others have been saying!! What is the incorrect term that you refer ...

Wooo, steady up Keith, never said I was an expert and definitely not an Gunsmith; just like getting behind a gun, doesn’t makes you a shooter. I used to be a right handed TR shooter in the 90’s and always employ Phil M. (still now) as my Gunsmith. While playing Rugby I split my right eye socket in ...
