Re: WHICH MOUNTS

Hi, I have just brought a vortex golden eagle to go on a tikka action f class rifle. I have started looking for mounts and have found there are a lot out there and some are very expensive. Having spent a lot on a scope i know I need good mounts, would like to here what a lot of shooters on here are...

Re: Somchem S365 South Africa , Next World Champs

Cartridge wise, it wont be any good if you cant train with it in Aus and the Open team will no doubt want consistency amongst all its members. I doubt we'll see anything different to or bigger than a 7SAUM in the future Aus FO Team. Individuals might be interesting to see though. There's a few inno...

Re: Canberra Queens

I've noticed in the comments that some shooters are not competing because of the targets? Are these kongsberg targets that bad, that people would prefer to stay at home? Konsberg targets are very good I shoot on them all the time at my club (Lyndhurst NSW), but they, like all things need to be set ...

Re: F-Open Calibre Poll - Long Range

Peter's post contains very well thought out sensible comments, While I do agree with him I am a one gun person. Two guns (different calibers) do not work well for me, other individuals may find the same. I have not voted either as there is no 7mm cartridge listed that matches mine.

Re: Carbon donut

http://forum.accurateshooter.com/threads/the-carbon-ring.3772542/ Have we identified what carbon and where yet lads ?? Mr Boyer's book talks about a carbon ring at the front of the chamber that can be a problem. This build up ( assuming it does exist ) will only be removed properly with a special t...

Re: ULTRA-LONG RANGE CHALLENGE

Alan, maybe so, but don’t rule out spring set if you don’t “ease” springs from week to week, this is often an unidentified problem if springs are not eased. It’s like not decocking your bolt, if you don’t sooner or later misfiring will occur.

NQRA has resolved that by feeding the power in at the middle of the daisy chain.

I know that John, but some do not learn from others experiences!!!!!!

Re: ULTRA-LONG RANGE CHALLENGE

Just wondering, what was your ES/SD in testing? Didn't record it Rod. But can only assume it was at least 10fps SD. Alan, it sounds to me that your scope was wound close to the top of it's travel & the erector tube did not have enough spring tension on it allowing it to "flutter". Do ...

I will go if the new administration have addressed the power drop issues with the end targets & if their RO & Comp Director interpret the rules correctly re ET's.

Re: Siera hunting projectiles any good?

An accurate rifle is one that you can hit what you are aiming at when you release a properly executed shot. We often have an unrealistic view of what a hunting rifle is capable of or need to be, they are not varmint or target rifles.

Re: Several primers not showing much pin strike

http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2017/10/tech-tip-check-your-primer-tools-if-you-have-primer-problems/ A lot to be said for the "better" priming tool that let you "feel" the primer bottom out in the pocket. I have also seen misfiring of small rifle primers when seated too har...

Re: 7mm rsaum questions

Necking cases down without a form die (or dies) is a bit like sucking lemons! I neck 30/06 brass down for my 280HI which is designed around 30/06 brass by using a form die. I haven't lost a case yet & I get good accuracy (not match winning but o.k. for club shooting) while fireforming with a gen...
