Re: WHICH MOUNTS

Are you looking at getting low, medium or high mounts? If your planning on free recoiling to any degree, depending on stock design, having higher mounts gives you more clearance to keep your cheek off the stock. There are a lot of shooters now with adjustable cheek pieces who have removed them. If y...

Re: Somchem S365 South Africa , Next World Champs

I'd love to see in individuals some .30 cal magnum variants pushing 230's fast and accurate. An unrestricted ME FCWC sounds like a great opportunity and worthy reason to put the time and money in to making that bullet work.

I think its going to be a really interesting FCWC to see for a few reasons.

Re: Somchem S365 South Africa , Next World Champs

Cartridge wise, it wont be any good if you cant train with it in Aus and the Open team will no doubt want consistency amongst all its members. I doubt we'll see anything different to or bigger than a 7SAUM in the future Aus FO Team. Individuals might be interesting to see though. There's a few innov...

Re: Another newbie

The barnards on usedguns and the link is left handed. The price is decent but not sure if I can get used to the left hand bolt. I've never tried one before. I'm right handed but I'm heavily left eye dominant. I decided to shoot right bolt rifles left handed because there were more options. Years la...

Re: Another newbie

There's a couple of nice LRP built Barnard F-class rifles on used guns that fall in to your price range. They're L/H which work very well for R/H belly or bench shooters. Maybe a second hand custom such as these is a better option.

Re: RSAUM with Energy restrictions

I agree Alan. Above 2820fps a .284W is still going to have shortish primer pocket life. At $200 per 100 for .284W cases, I'd rather be utilising the magnum base and getting longer brass life for the same 180gn MV. In my mind, it doesn't make sense financially or otherwise to re-barrel/re-chamber and...

Re: RSAUM with Energy restrictions

Coating bullets will also slow down your current load and may change the node length/characteristics when the charge is re-tweaked to compensate....

Re: RSAUM with Energy restrictions

Have you thought of trying ar2213sc with your current bullet. Slower burning may allow a longer node, possibly starting a little lower in velocity than where your current node is, while achieving good case fill still.

SD, ES & more, explained well by Adam McDonald

G'day All, A friend of mine and forum member Dave B has been on my case to check out a blog of a Canadian gent Adam McDonald. I finally got around to reading a couple of his subjects and I was stoked with the clarity and ease of his explanations. Really looking forward to reading more. Its definitel...

Re: Load development distance

I think you will find the main belief behind the 140yd is that the projectile doesn't "go to sleep" as people say (stop its pitching and yawing) and settle down until a bit after 100yds. This is the main reason as I have heard many times. Personally, I've done all of my development at 100...

Stainless Steel Media Tumblers?

Gday All, Ive been seeing those tumblers on Usedguns.com.au being sold through Straight Shooter Firearms. There are a few differnt brands available but Thumlers still looks like the highest quality in construction. Is anyone using the cheaper ones off used guns and how do you find them? Are 10mm x 1...

She'll be there mate. She misses you pressing her buttons, it makes her hummmmm. She didn't like that TR shooter JoshT taking advantage of her last time around. She's hoping an F-class shooter full of Port and chocolate coated macadamia's will be her Victor! She might appreciate FTR shooters a littl...
