Re: The Future

Bruce , Hats with NRAA on them would be of no benefit in fact quite the opposite as John & Jo Citizen would just think that we are a branch of the right wing nutters from the US . These are the people we are trying to win over , hardly likely to happen if they think we are part of their NRA. Tim...

Re: NRAA Ammo Survey.

Righto I will ask . The different trajectories can only come from different weights ?
Possibly shorter barrels and mild loads ? I hope.

Re: NRAA Ammo Survey.

Barry I am not sure where you are coming from in regards to purchasing approved projectiles. I have never queried that. You are right about the projectiles , its probably time to open it up to all 156gn max. "Might surprise us all if we new what is being used in FS and probably TR " care t...

Re: Victorians - Help Our Sport With Your Vote

Therein lies the problem with voting above the line Alan. It is not easy to find out what their preference distribution is . You have to do some homework. Most Australians are too lazy to do this. I see Labor won in a landslide. The upper house will take awhile to sort out. Are the two previous Fish...

Re: NRAA Ammo Survey.

Yes bsouthernau his figure is right based on a 1 or 2 cent levy. I am sure we pay 3 cents. This was fine as it was user pays . Some shooters then bought projectiles directly from a producer thus denying the NRAA funding. The NRAA should have made this producer an offer they couldn't refuse, abide by...

Re: NRAA Ammo Survey.

I think your maths is way out. 500 projectiles per year @ 3 cents is $15. Most shooters wouldn't shoot any more than 1000 per year = $30. Those of us paying the levy are going to get cranky if we are hit with a fee increase bigger than $30.

Re: Victorians - Help Our Sport With Your Vote

You would be better off voting below the line Alan . Put the shooters party first if you desire then order your preferences and you can ensure that those that want to close us down are put last . We get the politicians we deserve because too many vote above the line , almost 95 % . Voting below the ...

Re: The Future

WE need to wean ourselves off this " Prize mentality " . Peer recognition and appreciation is a far more satisfying reward. Trying to pay for your weekend by taking home a boot load of trinkets is not what our sport needs. That thinking has failed us, remember most shooters don't attend th...

Re: The Future

Finally someone has addressed rifle shootings elephant in the room . Most shooters don't go to DRA or Queens shoots. This group has been ignored and taken for granted for decades. They don't go because: 1 They don't like the competitive nature of prize meetings. 2 They rarely shoot well enough to wi...

Re: Sighting Problems

Thanks for the replies. What are the pros and cons of prescription shooting glasses or a prescription lens behind the rear sight. I have a prescription lens and frame that my dad used to use that would need to have a lens that suits my right eye. Interested on the experiences of those that have used...
