Re: 2209 with 30 cal 155.5 Bergers

Tried that Geoff. Most I could get in the case was 50 gn. Never chronographed but they went thru sideways at 900 yards.
Might be ok up to 600. Nice to shoot though.

Re: Victorian Queens Series - 2018

Would be nice to know for certain Peter before I make plans to attend. I'll await a reply from Albert or someone else on council.

Are those Kongsbergs going to be used for any part of the shoot?

Re: musgrave 7.62 Q.

My memory of the Musgrave trigger is that it was originally designed for around 1.5kg. That being so the spring was rather small and stiff --to stiff to get down to 1 kg and possible 1/2 kg ( shortly ) Not much you can do, as to really fix it a much lighter spring is required. From memory there was ...

Re: Foresite mount size

Scott,
To the best of my knowledge 0.75" was the standard. I am unaware of any at 0.800". Keith Hills may know more.

Re: Volume sorting cases?

Denis. If you are really concerned about volumetric variations, do a simple experiment. Take 10 lapua cases and test them against 10 Winchester cases. This is probably the worst variation you will get ---- like some 2 grains ( or 20 tenths ) Compare each batch relative to the other with respect to a...

Re: NRAA Factory Ammo Velocity

Factory Specification was 2750 f/s measured at 77 feet from muzzle in a 26" barrel. That would put it at around 2800 f/s at the muzzle in a 26" barrel.

Re: Several primers not showing much pin strike

G'day Phil. I would check your firing pin fall. This is a function of where the trigger picks up the cocking piece. You can have sufficient protrusion and spring tension but if the fall is a bit short misfires occur due to the firing pin not having sufficient energy to detonate the primer. The fall ...

Re: Kochies rants last 48 hours

The problem in this country is that most shooters are so naive that they believe something like that could not happen.
Lets not talk about it and it will go away.

Re: Victorian DRA teams

Could go along with that if you could get the VRA to change their stance with respect to that. How about the situation where there is only one representative of a certain discipline in the DRA ? It means there would be no shoot off in the DRA to determine a champion. Should that person go thru to Be...

Re: Victorian DRA teams

Looking at the VRA site it seems as that was done back in 2015. The travel for a team to travel interstate I think would put a few off. We had shooting members in our team that are well over 80. It required some effort just to get them to Bendigo. MIke was talking about the individual champions not...
