Re: VRA lead up and Queens.

Hi Albert,
Seeing as how the takings are going to a good cause ( and not general revenue ) I unreservedly retract my statement.

Re: VRA lead up and Queens.

Cost, cost and cost. Considering my own circumstances -- For Syme and Queens --Cost for one all up is $575, for two $1080. And we camp on the range. If we went to the caravan park add another $200. This does not include travelling costs. I am not miserable by any stretch of the imagination but I cou...

Re: Nightforce Benchrest 12-42 x 56 running out of elevation

Sometimes the recoil plate protrudes above the top of the receiver and the scope rail sits on this instead of on the receiver.
This in effect reduces the taper on your rail. Might be worth a check.

Re: Sierra or Berger

Yes, Lot # to Lot#. Within a Lot# about 5 thou Base to ogive with the same variation for length of parallel. That's probably acceptable and in itself does not cause problems, as with the correct measuring gauges you can batch them. The big problem is when you get large variations from Lot to Lot -- ...

Re: Sierra or Berger

I have a couple of batches of Berger 155.5's with .053" ( yep 53 thou ) difference in Base to ogive. Do they shoot the same ?( all other things being equal ) no, they do not.
Worst I've had in 2156 Sierra's is .015" batch to batch, with in box variation a couple of thou.

Re: Sierra or Berger

My finding is less variation per box and less variation batch to batch with Sierra than Berger. Not to say one is better than the other, just less time spent retuning with Sierra. And that applies to both the 2155 and 2156. I happily use both.

Re: If ballistics is a science ....

If you must lubricate the inside of case necks, ( I never do ) use a 308 mop impregnated with graphite powder. Leaves a light coating of graphite and powder will not adhere to it. You will probably wipe most of it away when you seat the projectile anyway but it does stop welding of projectile to cas...

The NRAA should publicly milk this win for everything they can get.
Get Aussie shooting sports back in the limelight of sporting achievements where they belong and F*** the anti firearm lot.

Re: throat angle

Do projectile designers actually perform tests with various shapes and various C of G's or do they simply design a projectile that " looks good " shape wise etc and say " well that should shoot " I am still convinced that the Sierra 2155 is more accurate than some of the later so...
