Re: WTB - LH F Class rig

I have a Stiller Python. Jewel trigger @ 3oz. McMillan Tooley MBR stock in green marble. March LR 10-60x52. Yep I have a 284W barrel amongst many other- tight necked can't remember exactly but can find out. Pretty sure I have some new neck turned brass. Wasn't really planning on selling it but don't...

Re: What Precision or Tactical Rifle setup do you use

Good info Kakadu. Had not considered holding still on high magnification (so used to shooting FClass where my comp NF rarely goes below 40x). Thanks. What magnification do you use most of the time? I shoot with my 5-40 power scope at about x16. Wide field of view trumps more precise aiming point. I...

Re: What Precision or Tactical Rifle setup do you use

No bullshit or talk about PRS Competition or what the NRAA should do, enough talk in other threads. Just seeking advice on what you PRS shooters are using for setups, looking at gathering parts to commence a project. Suggest starting with: Caliber / Case Action Barrel Muzzle Brake Stock AI Scope An...

Re: March ELR scope

anything with FFP and PRS in its concept is 30% over priced. With PRS I've never seen a sport so reliant on technique yet marketed with rubbish toys in my life! There is definitely a FFP tariff for sure. Don’t see this one as useful for practical rifle competitions at all but perhaps I’ll be proven...

€3300 for the K625i...once again way out of my justifiable price range.

Re: March ELR scope

I’m a March guy but was hoping for something that is more suited to the 95% rather han the 5%. ELR is growing in the States and they have the (allowed) space to do it so this might do well for them. I personally guessed a 40mm tube (have they actually said diameter??) and the with a little hint, at ...

Re: PRS IS COMING , WE HAVE TO EVOLVE !

Just out of curiosity, how many followers does PRS have in Australia? What sort of numbers roll up to one of their championship rounds, i believe they have a circuit of some sort where they shoot for points? Cheers Wal there is a match in Vic this Sunday, limited to 48 spots and quite a few people ...

Re: PRS IS COMING , WE HAVE TO EVOLVE !

Keith I don’t see the two being shot side by side ever. That doesn’t mean that clubs can’t...possibly...offer another discipline. We organise our shoots under NRAA Service Rifle Rules so there is precedent. I would never expect the two to happen side by side and from my experience they aren’t really...

Re: PRS IS COMING , WE HAVE TO EVOLVE !

In regards to the above I agree totally re sympathetic adoption of new disciplines. F Class was frowned upon by many when it first started (and by some still) and now it is going great guns. There are ways around the muzzle brake issue- we don’t shoot alongside F Class or TR shooters except perhaps ...

Re: PRS IS COMING , WE HAVE TO EVOLVE !

I am sure that if you turned up to a range and joe blogs with his $2000 dollar factory rifle started throwing sand dirt and rocks at you and your $10000+ custom action rifle and scope you too wouldn’t be very happy about it  As an organiser of practical rifle events allowing muzzle breaks, I...

Re: 6XC Load Data

Just had my AI AW rebarrelled to 6XC. I’ve used Berger 108’s and AR2209. Here is what I’ve found to date with only about 60 rounds down the tube Bartlein 1:7.5” 26”: Did a load work up from 39gr AR2209 to 41gr. 3 rounds each at .3gr increments gave me good (<.3”) groups up to 39.9gr with things goin...

Re: commonwealth games

Doesn’t strike me as a sport that would benefit from it but a curling competitor is under investigation for a failed drug test.
