Re: scope?

I found my scores jumped a few points when going from a NF BR 32* to the NF comp being able to resolve within the X ring made the difference. I know I could of been using a different technique (framing or setting up on on other parts of the target but to be able to see more clearly helped me. yes e...

Re: scope?

Agree totally sunnycoast. I have the Nightforce Comp 15-55 on my barnard and its perfect. Usually used at 40-55x. But I also have the Nightforce NXS 8-32 x 56 on my savage and I like that too. Its a better scope for some non-range shooting and still has adequate magnification for f class.

Re: scope?

I have not tried the golden eagle, but i like the nightforce more than the sightron. its a bit clearer and more solid (and more expensive) .. maybe on a range day get a look through a few...

Re: scope?

Well if your not walking around then anything between the NF NXS 5.5-22X56 MOAR-T and the NF NXS 8-32X56 MOAR-T would get the job done.... as i said personally i find scopes with less than 30x maximum a bit annoying for target but thats coming from an F open background. And it depends on the conditi...

Re: scope?

I think a 30x magnification is the minimum for f class to allow you to aim off around the x ring.... I have a NF 8-32x56 NXS with 1/8 clicks on my 308 (similar to yours) but i would not like to use it hunting.... I have QRW rings, quick release, and i would put a lower power smaller scope on it for ...

Re: Help... Hero to zero in one range

You know, the same pattern can be caused by different factors. The elevations in my 600m group could have been caused by velocity changes. I only know they were not because i have chronographed the rifle and there is hardly any spread at all. And I have seen the 5/6/700m groups on a good day...And I...

Re: 6.5 Creedmore - anyone?

This was a good article: http://demigodllc.com/articles/6.5-shootout-260-6.5x47-6.5-creedmoor/ I had a 260 AI and it was a very good rifle......... but the swede would be a good choice too. and both of those have lapua brass. In the case of the swede, no fireforming required. I think the swede AI is...

Re: Help... Hero to zero in one range

first one is affected by left wind at 500m (6x47). a little mirage running left to right. Nice flat group below: Screen Shot 2018-04-30 at 7.10.54 pm.png second one is affected by heavier mirage at 600m.no wind . hard to place the shot consistently. giving elevations image below: of course you could...

scope question

Has anyone tried both a VORTEX GOLDEN EAGLE 15 - 60 X 52 and a Nightforce Competition 15-55 ??

If so , how does the Vortex stack up ?

Re: nraa funding of overseas shooting

Sounds like you guys are upsetting each other for no good reason. Funding is a complex issue but the pie has to be sliced many ways, you need to make a study of it unemotionally and maybe this is not the way to start. As for F class in comm games or olympics good luck with that....
