Re: Canberra Queens

run up was good, the rain held off, but some mean flukey winds on the first arvo 600
i am still a bit emotional about that .... but the 500 & 800s were good

i just shot the 2 days. i read they cancelled this arvo due to inclement weather. glad i am not huddling down there in my tent !

Re: 6mm Dasher ammo for sale

Ben, I really appreciate the late night marketing tips but every time you post here it bumps the ad up to the top, maybe it would be fairer to the other posters to keep your opinions to yourself.

Re: 6mm Dasher ammo for sale

Hey Ben, I thought you'd given shooting away. Haven't seen you in ages. Give me a call and i'll help you out with a special price. but i figured loaded ammo was worth that ... try buying any dasher ammo in a Richmond gun shop buddy :) oh, and those rings retail for $275 nowadays, not that you would ...

Re: RSAUM with Energy restrictions

ummm actually i just did some calculations and 4500 joules (3300ft/lbs) is WAY low, I am glad I dont have to shoot there ! The limit in Qld and Bendigo is, i think 4750 joules (3500 ft/lbs) AND the general limit at NSW ranges is 5675 joules (4182 ft/lbs). So my next 300 wsm with 230gr pills at 2700 ...

Re: RSAUM with Energy restrictions

I would just ignore the restrictions until they are enforced... so long as you are shooting short mags, SAUMz and Ai its a bit hard to go way over. Just dont use any long magnums (eg 300 win mag etc) or lapua 338 sized cases (eg 300 norma, 30/338 lapua)

Re: RSAUM with Energy restrictions

280 Ackley = 7 saum, they are very similar in capacity and performance. Better velocity than a 284, but neither is a ferrari by any means....

Re: GRS Beserk Stock

It works...I have a small backpack stuffed with a couple of towels under the back, put the rifle into my shoulder, and use a 2 point sling and harris bipod (308) I think the sling helps with stability once you get used to it.

Re: WTB a savage 20tpi barrel nut

i think savage got paranoid about not looking sleek and sexy enough :) I used an action wrench to remove it undamaged but you would need the correct tool to do it up again, maybe a pipe wrench :). I was using the action for a new build.

Re: WTB a savage 20tpi barrel nut

actually, is that a small shank you want ? the new one is a large shank, i got as a spare so ill probably keep it. I have a small shank for $15 but its the smooth type from my 308PC. black finish.standard calibers are 1.055" x 20tpi. thats what it is
