Re: F Class Competition in Australia

The thing about rocking up Ana shooting those 55gr sierras is you will make 600y barely then no further as they will go subsonic. Have done this. Good fun, but you will get caught in bad wind with a poor bc. Pretty much similar to all hunting bullets. We don’t let hunting guns past 500m at our club ...

Re: 6.5 SLR

Your waiting for a bite there ain’t ya...

Wonder how things will go with 7-7.5 twist barrels to spin those heavy bullets. There hasn’t been much publicised success with the 195’s in 7mm but those 183’s seem to go alright.

Re: 6.5 SLR

Had a similar one, the 260 improved with 30 degree shoulder. Just load 260 case and shoot and it would form out nice. Accurate too both fireforming and normal loads. Easy on recoil and pretty good in the wind. 2870 was the load with 140 hybrids. That wasn’t pushing it either. 2209 was choice of powd...

Re: Carbon donut

No need to add polish to a media. Who knows what residue might do to powder and what it produces when it burns. And if it could cause a reaction with copper jacket too... whole new can of worms.

Re: 6 mm Dasher

Mine was a plain unbushed firing pin rem 700, krieger 236 barrel 31.6 2206h cci br4 and 105 hybrid. 3030fps and it used to hammer. Barrel went south after 1000 rounds and from memory the throat grew pretty fast too. Does indicate it was warm but man it shot!

Re: 6 mm Dasher

Interesting Frank, most dashers I know of use around 36gr h4350, 33gr varget and 31.5 or thereabouts of h4985 all for around 3000fps.

If these cases have been fired before and not excessively fl sized I agree with Jason. Firing pin assembly needs attention

Re: 6 mm Dasher

35 of 2208 is still hot in a dasher! Most run around the 32-33 mark. Or around 36 of 2209.

Re: 6 mm Dasher

Second the use of 2206h, it does very well in the dasher. Start at 31gr. I found the sweet spot around 3015fps with 105 hybrids.

Yes well done to uncle bob kinnear, he has been putting in all of work on his rifles and it really shows with his confidence when shooting. A real nice bloke who deserves it 100%

Aus wins WBC

Congrats to the Aussie team who won the WBC title in NZ yesterday. Seems as though the yanks are playing second fiddle to the aussies again in another form of shooting sports
