Re: 223 Rem throat length

Im running the 80gr smk with 24.5gr 2208 and a br4 primer. Mate is using the 70gr rdf in a shorter freebore varmint chamber. Not sure of his load. But the 80gr smk load works well in my factory tikka t3 varmint. Will check what COAL it’s set at tonight. Pretty sure it was jumping 20 thou. Yes bullet...

Re: Kongsberg Targets

Dave, we have sourced materials down here quite cheap. We start next week on our target work and I think will be testing next weekend if you want to come down on the Sunday.

Oh and save your time and barrel, i wouldn't recommend 2209 with 155.5gr bergers,
Cheers

There is direct relation between velocity and poi on target at long range. Very easy to see with a chronograph.

Re: 223 Rem throat length

70gr nosler rdf’s fit a bit better and for the extra velocity you can push them, the BC is quite good. Much better BC than the 69gr bullets

Re: 223 Rem throat length

Try it before you do anything drastic. My t3 8 twist shot a 57.4 with 80gr sierras at 300m a few weeks back and most custom and well tuned rifles shot around that same time were shooting similar scores. Not bad for a factory gun!

Re: RECOIL and THE BLOEMING CASE

That and wind reading while bisley style shooting. I’m no genius at it, but if we cant steer accurate 284’s and saums in wind shooting bisley style which is what it will be in South Africa, then there is no point expecting larger recoiling calibers to just magically go in the middle. Got to walk bef...

Re: BURRIS XTR-II F CLASS SCOPE 8-40 FFP with MOA reticle

I tried for years to have a dual purpose hunting and f class rifle. As good as it will get is multiple scopes and multiple barrels and possible multiple stocks. I know its not what you want to hear, but everything is a compromise when you try to do a dual rifle. If your after a saving of a few dolla...

Re: BURRIS XTR-II F CLASS SCOPE 8-40 FFP with MOA reticle

Bought 5 different brand rifle scopes before I bought a nightforce comp. Couple have bought 3 nightforce scopes for the same money and then wouldn’t still have to look for 2 more and find the funds. Buy once, cry once.
