Re: Problems with CCI 450s

They have thicker cups. For fireforming brass on wildcat chambers- jam bullets, tighten neck tension a bit, dont overdo powder charge- just enough to form shoulders (remember brass hasn’t been work hardened yet and you can ruin primer pockets easy, use softer cup primers. FWIW rem 7.5, CCI BR4 and 4...

Re: Tikka T3 actions for F class standard

I’ve gone from trued Remington, to a pierce temp clone, then full stainless lbrp multiflat, then Barnard and now back to tikka. Only due to being an adult apprentice and money is tight. In all honesty I could run a hv on the tikka which might be less weight, but this rifle balances out really nice w...

Re: Tikka T3 actions for F class standard

I’ve just built an ftr rifle on a left hand t3 action. Nice light action which saves weight. Same as willow, just used plastic follower but I set mine into my stock. Though I have hung a 1.130” straight for 30 inches bartlein off it. Seems to be working very well, will know more after this weekend w...

We used to listen to Eye of the Tiger before running on the hockey field. Got the juices flowing in case there was any early dirty tactics from the opposition.

Re: Caldwell fire control rest

Get someone to turn them up for you to suit. While you ur at it, get a Farley billet box top for it with a good Farley type bag. Makes it into a much more user friendly rest.

Re: High power scopes and NQ mirage!!

I like to use my nf comp on 40x if I can, because at that magnification the reticle works in MOA, but in summer it’s not rare to wind it back to 20. If I can get it cranked up to 55 I still like winding it back to 40 for the reason above. Good fun to be able to put a few minutes wind on your gun and...

Re: New Barrel

To me a barrel isnt fully run in until its had its little speed up/down phase. But in that time its still easy to see if its going to initially copper foul after the first few shots or so, and clean accordingly. I think the biggest thing in this time is to not let the horrible glazed carbon buildup ...

Re: Caldwell BR Front Rest Bag

Speak to Stuart at BRT and look at getting a Farley billet box top for it and a good quality Farley type bag. It was the best thing I ever did to a fire control rest, I’m sure it would be possible to engineer the rock BR to take it as well.

Re: Auspod release

So the handle in the middle just twists to adjust elevation, and the other handle on one side is for moving the entire gun left or right for wind? How wide do these go?

If you told them to use kilograms then they will be working with more decimals
