Re: The Future

Michael, I can see where Trev is coming from. The situation we have at Bendigo is disgusting. Our state range where the sport is probably shown at its worst.
As for Belmont, how many clubs are based out of there? Is 80 really a healthy situation?

Re: Shooting Jacket for sale

I have my old TR one in the wardrobe that is only gathering dust.

Mike , you as the club captain should be going with the majority, so put the jacket back on before the next pennant.

Pretty sure there is a rule against electronic devices on the mound.

Re: Gehmann #579 CLS Vari-Focal Astigmatic Iris system

The weekend was quite a surprise, the lens does not solve all my problems, if you look at Saturdays scores you will see that I am still a bit unsteady and had trouble reading the easterly wind (same as a lot of other people) The westerly on Sunday was moving around but I thought it was more readable...

Re: Leveling TR sights - what is your method?

Gerard, from what you are stating is that your vertical adjustment is not perpendicular to your windage arm, if this is so then you will never get it right. I level the windage arm and then level the foresight using the internal level. If rear sight is within specs then adjustments in both direction...

Re: Gehmann #579 CLS Vari-Focal Astigmatic Iris system

Finally took my new diopter 50300-0 Diopter 0.0x to the range today, my rifle has a 30mm front tunnel and a .5 eagle eye, dialling the diopter in it is possible to see every blemish on the front ring, however at this setting the target is not distinguishable, dialling further you can make the target...

Re: New blow off shot rules

Steve
Canberra traditionally have had a session the day before the leadup where you can shoot a range or two, usually at a distance that is not going to be used in the competition.

Re: Recoil & Stock Design

Rod the 25mm limit comes from the allowed bearing area of the front rest in F standard 20.10.1 If the front rest is a pedestal type or a sandbag:- (a) The shooter may use his hand between the rest and the fore-end. (b) If the fore-end is in direct contact with the rest, the maximum bearing surface b...

Re: Recoil & Stock Design

Denis my bag riders are higher than Alans, With a heavy barrel in his he can still get away with a flat surface on top of his rest. With mine the barrel will be below the bag riders thus I have a recess in my rest. I designed around the fact that I wanted the bore to be center of the allowable 25mm ...

Re: Recoil & Stock Design

Denis here is the basis of a rilfe I have been shooting since the Canberra Queens Last year, I have the center of the bore in the center of the bag riders. We have filmed it during recoil and it shows no sign of torque and is very easy to shoot. Unfortunately I have not been able to teach it to read...
