Re: 7mm SAUM Rechamber/Barrel Life

I reckon you need to be prepaired to do a re chamber around 900. If it looks and shoots great then leave it but I see my x count tapering at around 800. Some say they get WAY more than that but as Phil says, I wouldnt want to be attending a major event. Club shoots you can afford to roll the dice an...

Re: Silver Mountain SOLO ET's

Hi Daniel Just read your post here and accurate shooter, just wanting to clarify if you’ve done any testing of other systems? Or if your claims are just assumptions? Not particularly interested in a debate, I looked at the SOLO and ended up with a shotmarker Hi Simon, for all sorts of reasons I wis...

Re: Bullet Selection and Considerations (308)

Basically the lighter the bullet the lowere the ballistic coefficient (BC) ie the lower the BC the more air effects it either by slowing it down or pushing it sideways by the wind. Think of it like a mack truck vs an F1 car. The mack truck has a low BC and a lot of wind resistance and thr F1 car is ...

A good gunsmith is like any trade. If you want a good job dont expect it to be quick or cheap.

Re: New F Open Rifle

300 "shobby" is something John shobbrook and Jerome came up with. It's a 375 ruger with the shoulder pushed back and blown out so you end up with more neck length than a WM or Dakota and still plenty of capacity to push 230s. Ticks a lot of boxes :-) I like the 300 skadi which is the 300 N...

Re: sara queens

I went out for a bit of a look today and saw some exceptional shooting . . . . . . . The conditions certainly weren't mild with small but very quick changes both on the flags and mirage. Those that could keep in the groove posted some excellent scores. To have the top 3 FO shooters separated by an X...

Re: nraa funding of overseas shooting

From what I understand TR teams get funding through NRAA via grants that the NRAA apply for on behalf of the shooters. I THINK the funding comes from Australian Institute of sport (or similar). They justify it on the grounds that TR is a commonwealth games sport and F class isn't. Gonna be interesti...

Re: Alpha munitions brass

Gyro. Short answer is yes. As with everything there is a point of diminishing returns but for me good brass and a good barrel are the platform to build accuracy on.

In a multi day event a few 1% improvements combined usually determine the pointy end.
