Re: Au Match Rifle & Long Range F Class + Ultra Long Range

Great event with an excellent roll up of competitors and weather has been kind so far with only a slight delay for rain yesterday but we still managed to get in all 10 ranges for the individual competition, Rob Jeffery from NSW won the F Open Individual competition on 864.22 by 7 points from Ernie M...

Re: Kapooka march out Nov 16

The Burring Motel at Lake Albert is good. My in-laws used to stay there regularly when visiting Wagga. They do not have a restaurant and it is not close to any restaurants, but both the Kooringal Hotel and the Thomas Blamey Tavern are just a short drive. The Burringa Motel is just off Red Hill Road ...

Re: Question for the Omark experts

I used Sportco/Omark M44 rifles for 30+ years without the ejector. The last lot of brass I used was Lapua LR primer fitted, had something like 20 firings from each case before I retired it because the case head could no longer be sized down to fit easily in the chamber. That brass never showed any s...

Re: Stock type?

I agree that the stock looks like a Bill Barratt stock on the forend and that was my initial guess as to maker. However Bill Barratt didn't put adjustable cheek pieces on any of the stocks he made. Either someone has added the adjustable cheek piece later or it may have been made by Bill Heald who d...

Re: NATIONAL MATCH RIFLE & LONG RANGE F CLASS CHAMPIONSHIPS

As far as I am aware, the range has a muzzle energy limit of 5675 joules.

Re: FS bench source case annealing machine

Jim The 400 gram gas bottles the Bench Source annealer uses, are obtainable at many outdoor/camping supply shops. I found it more convenient though, to convert mine to use 2 x 8.5kg bbq gas bottles. All the hoses and fittings required were readily available at the local outdoor shop. I would recomme...

Re: Weaver rings & picattiny rails

Just apply some slight flame heat to the epoxy and it turns to a soft gum if you want to remove the base. Or apply a hot iron to the scope base for a couple of minutes, which I think probably removes any risk of overdoing the flame heat. This method also good for removing glue in bedding jobs. (hot...

Re: FCWC 2021

The decision has been made to hold the 2021 FCWC in South Africa. Everybody can make their own decision to travel there or not. I wouldn't travel there but I also wouldn't travel to Bali or Thailand. I travel to the UK and Europe regularly, making an assessment of the dangers involved. My assessment...

Re: FCWC 2021

The opportunity to enter the rotation appears to have been lost at the FCWC in 2009 when held at Bisley. Only 3 Australian F Class shooters competed in that FCWC, including the previous poster. My recollection is that nominations were called for a team to compete at that World Championship but the N...

Re: 2209 with 30 cal 155.5 Bergers

There seems to be a kick over point with 2209 in 308 cases, that allows the powder to burn cleanly and completely within the barrel. Bullets of 208g will allow the powder to burn properly within the barrel, bullets of 190g the powder does not get properly consumed in the barrel. I have seen little f...
