A good few years back, my Club changed its rules to define the Club Champion as the person with the highest score in the club competition who was available to compete in the DRA championship. :wink: The DRA didn't let us get away with it.

May have mentioned it before (you get that way as you age) but the Belmont smallbore range can be a bugger at certain cold months of the year. It's a fully walled in range without roof. I used to like the way Bert Bowden ladder tested. Three rounds of each load boxed 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 at a quiet 800 yards with somebody else spotting & plotting the shots. He would replot them by load & only then think about assessing the outcome. Worked for him, albei...

10 plus two would run 18 minutes plus prep time for 2 shooters. On paper this would make it faster than normal string fire in erratic conditions. How about scoring time - when one shooter calls the value & the one just fires accepts it. At a scant minimum of 5 seconds, that adds another 2 minut...

According to BR shooters, indoor ranges aren't necessarily a completely controlled environment. For example, turbulence from the shots becomes a form of wind/mirage. For example, shots fired adjacent to walls have their flight influenced by them.

Providing of course that each shot is timed, which I understand it is. (otherwise it would become a game of chess/strategy. delaying in order to fatigue your opponent/s). Yep. I have two sets of adjusters for my rest - one with F Class feet & one with hard points for benches & concrete.
