Re: Bugger
While it's possibly related to that particular cartridge or environmental factors, it was probably you tensing up on the gun. The projectile is in the barrel, and the rifle is moving under recoil for about 1.5 msec. While 1.5 msec is not a long time it is enough time for things to change. Consider t...

Re: WTB scope base for Barnard P with 25 MOA minimum
I have a Barnard OEM 25 moa rail if you only need an extra 5 moa. If you are going to 30 moa and want to keep the same zero you need 10 moa of "negative" elevation. I swapped out that 25 moa rail for a 40 moa one to shoot out to 1500 but the price is being 8 inches high at 100 yards making...

Barnard Rails and the 2 different screw lengths
Hi All, I have both a 25 and a 40 MOA OEM Barnard pic rail. Each was supplied with 4 screws of 2 different lengths. When you put the rail on you can use 4 screws. There seems to be no difference between the front and back screw countersinks, ie same height from the receiver side (and ignoring minor ...

Re: WTB: The Target Rifle in Australia book
If you Google for (with quotes) "The Target Rifle in Australia" there are multiple sources (and prices) that have it in stock. The first link looks the best as it's local to Australia and the best price... $55 AUD http://berkelouw.com.au/rare-book/the-target-rifle-in-australia-1860-1900-wi...

I've heard they say, opinions are like ... everyone's got one.
Be that as it may I'm looking for written wisdom, so if you have any classics gathering dust I would be delighted to convert them...

Re: Flagpoles
Hi Peter, Further to my comments vis a vis Moyes Delta Gliders the leading edge of my glider is 7075. Each side is about 18 feet long and I can do > 120 km/hr without it breaking. Yes, it does have a carbon fiber cantilever compression strut about 1/2 way outboard but it also has about 50x the load ...

Re: Flagpoles
I would suggest getting in touch with Vikki at Moyes Delta Gliders: https://www.moyes.com.au/ With hang gliders, we use either T6 6061 or 7075 tubes. Both are "aerospace-grade" with the 6061 being mildly weaker but thicker-walled and cheaper than the 7075. T6 is the age hardening rating. 6...

Re: Zeroing for ETs
Hi Tim, The range you zero a rifle at does not do anything to change the bullet trajectory. What you have done by zeroing at 30m would normally be considered a zero at about 250 yards. Zeroing like this, at something around the maximum point-blank range, is very common in hunting rifles but makes le...
