Re: Security changes to ozfclass.com

FireFox (latest version - 53 I think) and Chrome (on my android phone) also has this problem so I don't think it's browser related. The https pages are also not fully encrypted so FF doesn't like that either. But I don't think this is the problem - I have no idea why it sometimes wants a double logi...

Re: Website Connectivity Issues

It is extremely easy to misconfigure a zone file in a DNS setup. A missing period (.) in a name will do it - and be quite difficult to see. So will forgetting to update the serial number after a change - that will prevent a propagation to the secondary(s) and others. Glad it's fixed - and that you h...

Re: Website Connectivity Issues

For some days I have been noticing intermittent DNS resolutrion of http://www.ozfclass.com I was able to resolve an IP address from my own name server that had it cached. The Telstra and IINET nameservers were not able to resolve for most of the last three days. When down, nslookup on numerous publi...

Re: Future Structure of Queens Events

Hi John, How can there be any other outcome from this situation, other than what is written into the SSRs ? I'm not certain any electronic target can truly detect its frame having been hit with any certainty. I will agree with any suggestion that the changes to the SSRs can benefit a dishonest shoo...

Re: Safety Certification of Rifles

I had two sons who were into shooting. One shot himself into A grade (TR) by the time he hit 17. University interrupted regular shooting for both him and his older brother but the death knell was an incident that had him labeling shooters as "grumpy old bastards" (putting it politely) and ...

Re: North Qld Queens

Live results to the Ozscore website only applies to Beaudesert as only that range using the Ozscore system has the software that provides for this, a decent wireless connection to the internet, AND the appropriate equipment to connect wirelessly to the internet. Live publishing of shot data on the i...

Re: James Corbett

I've known James long enough to know that while he might shoot one discipline, he is attuned to all. The way I see it, he seems to have decided that it isn't worth his while to interact here. Correct to a point. I don't think he considers contributing to this forum as not worth his while. Instead I...

Re: Tassie Queens - Ammunition Limits

Hmmm.... So, you have 20 shooters with 5Kg each, or 10 shooters with 10Kg each. What's the difference? As for writing to them, well, to be honest that didn't occur to me. Probably because I doubt that I would get much of an answer. If I were directly affected I might. I find quite a few things occur...

Re: Tassie Queens - Ammunition Limits

So how do/did Tasmanian shooters get their ammunition supplied under normal circumstances? Either made up (factory via NRAA) or by separate raw materials (powder, primers, projectiles, etc)? Furthermore, I guess the obvious question is why would there be a weight limit on a boat? And since (as I reca...

Vale Brian Crook

Brian Crook, a keen shooter for 30 or more years in South Australia and more recently with the Canberra Rifle Club, passed away at 7pm this evening (31st July) after a four month battle with brain cancer. For the last seven years he was my fiercely loyal helper and supporter in the development of my...

I know someone who has actually asked to have their posting rights (for want of a better expression) terminated. But had that request denied!

????

I think Alan has the balance right. BTW, I was glad about the outcome in this case.

I saw Raeburn a couple of weeks ago when I was visiting another shooter in the same ward. He impressed me with his calmness, quietly I suppose having come to terms with his fate and turning down a padre who wandered by offering prayers. He was 79 (he made a point of telling me this). I will remember...

Alan, Can we also get a copy of the results posted on this web site? The rankings will be derived from leadup and queen's event results that are generally available on the websites of the associations that conduct them. However I do not see any technical reason preventing the results from which the...
